Merlin's PoV, Magic: Known, Request by: @nighthuntress17
Note: in this Arthur knows about his magic and has for sometime. Magic has not been legalized so Arthur is protective of Merlin in the sense he doesn't want him to be executed. Though I don't know if that will be coming up during this story.
This is kinda a longer one and Idk if y'all will like it, but I hope you do. Enjoy!

The tips of my ears hurt from the cold winds while we rode back together. When Arthur first found me, and got me away from her...lair, I thought he only had one horse with him. The idea of having to ride all the way home right behind him had originally made me anxious, uncertain of how badly I really wanted to get to Camelot. Now that we're on separate horses, shaking from the cold, I'm starting to wonder if riding with him would've been that bad after all.

My heart pounded so loudly I could hear it over our horses hooves and the wind whistling in my ear. I felt like not enough oxygen was reaching my system as all the events that took place began to sink in.

1. Morgana captured me.

2. She stupidly explained her plan to me, as though I wouldn't be escaping within the hour.

3. I tried to use magic to escape.

4. I fail. Badly.

5. Morgana reveals the cuffs that were so harshly digging into my thin wrists were somehow magic proof.

6. She then revealed that she had learnt of my magic.

7. She added one last step to her plan.

8. She is most definitely, positively, without a doubt, going to kill me.

9. I realize how totally screwed I am.

10. She begins to execute the last step of her plan before Arthur heroically saves the measly servant boy.

That'll do wonders for that large ego of his, I thought to myself.

I was so close to death. Mere moments away from my life fading away. Of all the brushes I had with the old friend called Death, none have been so harrowing. It wasn't even the method, but rather the madness. I can hear her speech echoing in my ears as though she were riding right along side me.

Have you heard of Visdane, Merlin? Hm? Well in case you haven't, I'll explain it to you. Many years prior to now, there was a sorcerer. He was said to have some of the greatest powers of any sorcerer to live. But that's just it, he wasn't the greatest. And he wanted to be oh-so badly. So one day he concocted up a little potion that is known as Visdane. It's used on sorcerers like you to drain magic. One drop can temporarily take your powers for a fortnight. Half this bottle, mixed in with your food, will slowly and painfully drain your magic from you forever before killing you. I'll give you a choice, Merlin. I will mix in this potion with your food so you have two ways to die. One, you eat your food and die in the way I just described. Or two, you refuse to eat it until you either die from starvation or you give in and take one little bite, and have all the fun of both options.
