Gwaine PoV
__
I swallowed hard as I found myself getting lost in thought. How did I get here? Fancying one of my best mates? Gods help me!

I stared at him across the room. All the knights got in their armor and began picking weapons. Percival laughed at something Leon said, throwing back his head. His chuckle echoed in the room and snapped me out of my thoughts. I stood up, grabbing my sword and anything else that could be used during training.

I kept finding my focus steering away from the weapons and over to Percival. Specifically, his arms. How, and more importantly why, does he not have sleeves on his chain mail? Not only is it not smart for cold weather, but also it just seems quite stupid in general. Less protection plus no warmth plus distracting me when I should be focused on anything else only equals disaster.

I jumped up, holding a sword, a shield, and two knives.

"Well come on now, Lads!" I yelled. "No more standing 'round looking pretty, 'specially you, Percival. Grab your weapons and armor now, out to the field!" The knights laughed at my remarks and began to make their way out onto the training grounds. I spotted Arthur and Merlin trailing slowly behind, whispering who knows what to each other before laughing loudly. Arthur patted him lightly on the back before running to catch up with the knights. I leant down to grab a knife I dropped and was startled by Merlin, clapping me on the back.

"Gwaine," He began. "You know I love you like family but this is just bloody painful! I'm surprised no one else has seen you making eyes at Perce. I know he's got large muscles but you could make it just a wee bit less obvious." He laughed and walked away, leaving me speechless for once in my life.

Training had just ended but I stayed, slashing through the air like it were my own feelings.

"Mate, what did the air ever do to you?" I jumped slightly as Percival's loud voice as he came up behind me.

"What are you doing here? Training's over."

"Well I could say the same to you, Gwaine." He sent a smile my way and I felt my confident demeanor waver. "As long as we're both here, care for a duel?" I was at a lost for words for a moment, but quickly recovered, nodding towards him. We both held our swords in front of us, and nodded, signaling we were ready.

He lunged forwards, and I jumped back. He sliced near my left arm so I blocked, pushing him towards the right. I made a move. my sword coming down towards his neck, and he dodged my hit. We went on for ages, blocking, parrying, cutting, and repeating. I could tell he was tired, and that alone gave me more energy.

It was like I wasn't fighting him, but rather these new found feelings that happened to be for him. I lunged forwards at the same time the sky opened and rain began to pour down on us. I felt water fall into my eyes and hesitated. He took that as an opportunity and pushed me, causing us both to tumble backwards. He regained his balance before I, and used this to his advantage. He made an uppercut that I barely had time to block.

Swords against one another, and he had the upper hand. He used his height and strength to push against my sword, forcing me to back up until my back his against the cold stone of the castle wall. He took not even half a step back, disarming me, but still keeping me trapped between him and the wall.

"Are you going to let me go or do you need to take a moment longer to appreciate my luscious hair?" I feigned confidence, a smirk upon my face. I scanned his face, and soon found myself lost in his eyes, raindrops falling from his eyelashes and dripping off the tip of his nose. I only tore away my gaze to stare at his lips. I swallowed hard and noticed him do the same. I opened my mouth to speak, but before I could say a single thing I felt his lips upon my own.

His hands found their way into my locks, tangling into the wet curls. mine made their way around the back of his neck. I had a distant thought, wondering when he dropped his sword.

Sooner than I would have liked, we both pulled away and were gasping for air. I gazed into his eyes as he did the same to me, and found myself chuckling.

"What are you giggling at?" He asked, looking slightly offended.

"Nothing, I just... Well I just realized we're the Merlin and Arthur of the knights." He groaned loudly.

"Oh, gods, does that mean I'm Arthur? I don't want to be Arthur!"

"Hey!" A new voice piped up. "I'm a damn delight and you should be happy you aren't Merlin!" We scrambled away from each other at the sound of the kings voice and his servants laughter.

"Sire! How long have you been there?" I asked, standing up straighter.

"Long enough." Arthur spoke while Merlin interrupted him.

"By the way, Gwaine is most definitely me in this situation. Sorry, Perce, you're just too...daft."

"Daft?" Both blondes yelled, offended, while Merlin and I laughed, running away from our lovers protests.

a/n:: sorry this is so short! I did really try to capture Gwaine and Percival's characters but not only was it hard because i've never written them, but also because they aren't continuously showed the way some of the other characters are. towards the beginning i tried to show gwaine being more unsure and frightened, but it became easier to write him as he is on the show as it went on.
hope y'all enjoyed and please leave requests! i will give you credit and all that jazz. thanks!
