Picture a large hall, with light bulbs all over the room. When all the bulbs have been switched off, the room is dark. When you switch one bulb on, there is some light in the room, another bulb increases the light intensity, and another and yet another until the whole room is fully lit!
Jesus refers to all believers as the light of the world
* Methew 5:14-16 you are like light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and puts it under a bowl; I stead he puts it on a lamp stand where it gives light for everyone in the house. In the same way, your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do, and praise your father In heaven.
Once a believer chooses to follow the Lord Jesus, the Spirit of God comes upon him and becomes His guide from that moment on. The light of truth begins to permiate the believer's mind as the Spirit of God guides, instructs, warns, rebukes, comforts, heals and enlightens him.
The believer begins to transform in character as the nature of God progressively forms in him. The outcome of the believer's journey is what draws more people to God. By the power of the Spirit of God, the person becomes an object of reconciliation between God and other men who had not yet discovered the love and faithfulness of God. He becomes a peacemaker. Through him, others become a light to the world as well.
As more people discover their true identity in God and have their character transformed, the light in the world increases in intensity, and humans begin to hava a test of what the kingdom of God really is like.
There is immense opposition to this process by the kingdom of darkness, but the ultimate victory belongs to the sons of light. And you are one of them if you choose Christ Jesus and learn from Him. Do not yeald to, or be enslaved by the demands of your lower human nature, for you were created to be divine.
According to the Bible in:
* Galatians 5:22, the fruits of a journey with the Spirit of God are; love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, humility and self-control.
There is no low against such things as these.
This is your rightful heritage in Christ Jesus, don't let the enemies of God take it away from you. There is a great reward for those who choose this path.
