Nora lolled in the grass, squinting up at the sky, vast and endless above. Not a cloud was to be seen and the sun took advantage of the day. The big ball of fire twinkled and shone overhead, eager to have the sky all to itself. Nora sighed. It wasn't too long ago when she had been lying on her back in Wicks just like so, taking pleasure in the ease of the day. So much had changed in so little a time.

Just then, during her reminiscing, a curly headed creature fell atop of her, and Nora let out a yelp of surprise. So engrossed was she in her musings, Nora had forgotten all that around her. The furious giggles, emitting from the little wolf, brought Nora back to Earth.

Nora sat up, cradling the offender in her arms.

"Annabelle. What in the world?" Nora smiled, softly jostling the tot.

"I woked you up." Annabelle answered, giving Nora a huge smile.

"You certainly did. There's no shut eye around you, now is there?"

"Nope!" Anna responded, crawling out of Nora's hold. Once on her feet, she bent over to pick something off of the grass. "Look what I got." Anna shoved a fist of wildflowers towards Nora, obviously very proud of her findings.

"Why look at all those pretty flowers!"

"Yeah! I picked them all up."

"Good job. Here let me see those."

Nora took the flowers from Anna's grubby hands.

"I have an idea. Sit right by me." Nora patted the ground besides her and the young one promptly sat on her bum. Nora began to intricately weave the stems of the flowers together, while Anna watched intently. In no time at all, Nora had crafted a floral wreath.

"There. How about that? Do you like it?"

Nora held out the delicate ring of flowers to Anna, who nodded her head profusely.

"It's like a tiara. Can I have it, please?"

"You're right. It is a tiara, and you shall be the finest fairy princess in all the land."

Nora placed the wreath atop on small head. Just as soon as it was set down, Anna jumped up, and fell upon Nora, giving a big child sized hug.

"Thank you!" She sputtered. "I'm going to show Peyton."

"You're very welcome. Run along." Nora encouraged. Anna was off, careening towards Peyton who stood apart, digging in the dirt. The pup flung herself on Peyton, who was not amused. Nora shook her head, letting out a chuckle.

"Am I always to find you outside?" Nora looked across the grass to see Blaine leaning against the frame of the patio door. Nora got up, wiping her dirt stained hands on her jean shorts. The children too, upon hearing their father's voice, scampered towards him. Blaine got on his knees, holding his arms out for his offspring who collided into him.

"This is my habitat." Nora shrugged.

"That I know. You are more a woodland elf than a wolf."

Nora approached Blaine, who managed to stand upright, despite the fact that Annabelle and Peyton were clinging to his legs. "How have you been?" Blaine asked of Nora, holding her hands in his.

"Just dandy, Blaine. For the most part. Making the best of things."

"I wouldn't expect anything else. You are always of cheery of a countenance."

"Compliments of my mother."

"Ah. Will I ever get to meet such a fine woman?" Blaine asked, releasing Nora.
