Nora stared up at the ceiling, groggy.

"Come now, Nora. Rise and shine! You can't be late for your appointment" Mary moved from the foot of the bed to the windows and pulled apart the curtains. The sun gleefully streamed into Nora's room, alighting everything with its yellow shine. Nora grabbed the nearest pillow, and placed it over her face - shielding herself.

"None of that, Nora. You must remove yourself from that bed. You have less than an hour to bathe and dress." Mary warned, walking to stand over Nora's bed.

"No, I don't wanna." Nora whined out, tightening her hold over the pillow.

"What's gotten over you today?"

Unbeknownst to Mary, Nora had suffered through yet another fitful night of sleep, thanks to more frightful visions and unsettling images. When Mary had shaken her shoulder and awakened her, Nora was less than well rested. Mary's insistence was irritating, to say the least. Rather than explain all of this, Nora simply stated:

"I'm not in the mood."

"Now, I know it's early and you'd like to have a couple more hours of sleep, but take that up with the Quinton. All I know is that those doctors have arrived and will be expecting your presence shortly. So, either get with the program or explain to them why their coming here was a waste of time." Mary stated.

Nora harrumphed, pulling the bed sheets over her head.

"There is no need to act like a petulant child. I, cannot just stand here and try to convince you to comply. I have to things to be getting to and you will have to come to your decision on your own." Mary finalized and simply turned on her heel and left the room.

Nora listened until she could no longer hear Mary's foots steps. After a couple of minutes, she uncovered herself. As reluctant as she was, Nora knew that she was behaving childishly and that wasn't very becoming of her. Plus, it would be rude to ignore the doctors' visits. Though, Nora could not, for the life of her, understand why her appointment was had to be so early in the day - eight o'clock in fact. Besides that, she had forgotten the appointment was today.

Nora turned her head to the bed side table. The clock read seven o'clock. a. Nora swore underneath her breath, rolled out of bed and staggered her way to the bathroom.

Half an hour later, Nora was sluggishly making her way down the hallway, to the make shift examination room. Her eyes were still droopy and her head pounded, retaliating against her lack of rest. At the door, she knocked before pushing it open. The physicians and Quinton were there  the room arranged just as it was before. Nora offered a soft greeting.

"Nora. It's a pleasure to see you again." Cora stated exuberantly, approaching Nora with her hand outstretched.

"Same here. Sorry to keep you all waiting." Nora replied, shaking Cora's  hand.

"Nonsense. You're early." Cora assured.

"It's been quite a while since I've seen you both." Nora mentioned.

"That is true. Sorry to put you off, but there's not many of us physician around, but there are many of your kind. So often, we're stretched thin."

"I apologize then for me being an inconvenience."

"You are no inconvenience. We're happy to be here." Mr. Kanover interjected, looking up from some documents that he was filling out. "Let's now begin though, for time is of the essence."

"Yes. Yes. If you will, Nora, sit on the bed, there." Cora said, pointing.

Nora nodded and turned to sit atop of the examination table. She let her head hang, kicking the air as her legs dangled.
