Chapter 5: The Perfect Sky Is Torn

ZAYN'S POV

I groaned and slid down on the couch. I was so bored, it was 11am on an off day and there was nothing to do. I didn't think anyone heard m e groan, so i did it again but louder. Sliding further down on the couch.

"Okay. Zayn." Paul said, "We get it, you're bored. Make yourself useful and go to the store and pick u some food or something."

I groaned again, "Fineeee." I said, slowly getting up off the couch. I walked into the kitchen, Beth was eating a waffle next to Niall.

"Elizabeth." I said to her, "Come one, you're going grocery shopping with me."

"Why me?" she asked

"Cause I don't know how to shop!"

"What makes you think I do?!"

"You're a girl!" I yelled, laughing

Beth rolled her eyes and turned to Niall, "I'm going to go with Zayn, that okay?" she asked him

"Of course, I'm going to get in the shower." he got up and kissed her on the cheek, "See ya, babe." Then walked out of the room.

"The store is just down the street, we can walk there." Beth said, walking towards the door.

I followed her out onto the sidewalk, "So why were you here again last night? Like, not that I don't want you to, I was just wondering.."

Beth laughed, "My dad was mad at me for going on the date with Niall, so I just told him I wasn't going to come home."

I laughed. We approached the Wal-Mart and walked in. Of course there were immediately girls who recognized me, they came running at me. I smiled signed some autographs and took pictures, before following Beth down an isle. She reached up on her tiptoes, trying to grab a box of cereal on the top shelf.

She turned to me with a pouty expression, "Zayn..."

I burst out laughing, "I'll get it for you." I said between laughs. I reached up with ease, grabbing it and handing it to her, I patted her on the top of the head, "It's okay, Niall's short too."

She wrinkled her face and stuck her tongue out at me. It only made me laugh harder. We continued down the isle, grabbing random food items that looked good. Soon I had so much I couldn't carry any more, we then decided we had enough.

We walked to the check-out lane and put everything on the counter. As the cashier was scanning everything, Beth came up behind me, "Hey, Zayn. Look." She threw a brightly colored magazine at me, I caught it and looked at the front.

The biggest picture right in the middle was Niall with Beth, she had her hood up and sunglasses on. He was leaning over, whispering something in her ear, and she had a cute little grin. You could see a piece of her long blond hair sticking out of her hood. The headline above it said, 'Who is Niall's mystery girl?' under it in smaller letters it said, 'Check page 74 for inside details!'

I put the magazine on the counter along with our food. "What are you doing?" Beth asked me

"I'm buying it. I want to read about the 'mystery girl'." I laughed

Beth rolled her eyes and grabbed one of the bags. I carried the others and we walked out of the store.

NIALL'S POV

Beth and Zayn walked through the door and set the bags down on the kitchen island. Beth pulled something out of a bag and walked over to me, she sat closely next to me, on the couch, and handed it to me. It was a magazine. I read the headline and looked at her with a smile.
