I sat at the front of church this morning with my family. I was going to be rededicated today. I twirled my thumbs together and felt my mom put her hand on mine. I smiled slightly and laid my head on her shoulder. We have been going our church since before I was born. My parents got married in this church, my sister and I were both baptized in this church. When it was time for my rededication, we all stood in front of the altar.
I felt renewed when I left out of church today. Our family is going to cook out to celebrate me going to college and getting rededicated at church. I sat at a picnic table as my dad cooked on the grill. "I'm so proud of you." My grandmother smiled. "Thanks grandma." I smiled back. I felt her grab my hand and squeeze it. "I got you something, your mother told me that she got you a charm bracelet for your graduation." She said.
I nodded and twirled the silver bracelet, a few charms already decorating it. "So your grandfather and I got you a new charm." She handed me a small plastic bag. I looked at it, it was a small cross. "Thanks grandma." I smiled and hugged her. I carefully put it on and kissed her forehead.
