"Our first Thanksgiving in our new house!" Brittany smiled when she finished setting the table. "I know babe, I'm so excited." I smiled. Bodhi giggled, running towards me. I roared as he screamed. Picking him up, he hung upside down and laid his legs on my shoulder. Brittany blew a raspberry on his stomach and he laughed. "Mommy, you're funny!" He smiled. "I know baby." She smiled as I put him down. He sat down on my foot and wrapped his legs around my ankle. "Lets go finish cooking." I smiled before walking into the kitchen.
I stood up and hit my cup with a fork, quieting the room. "I would like to say something." I started and everyone looked at me. "I want to thank everyone for coming to celebrate Thanksgiving at our new home. Brit and I have been saving to buy our first home and we're so happy that we're both able to start our new family in this house." I smiled and everyone did too. I sat down and felt Brittany hold my hand. I kissed her hand gently and she blushed.
Bodhi sleepily watched Dinosaur Train as Brittany got ready for Black Friday with her sister. "Be careful out there." I said and she nodded. "I will." She kissed me gently and pressed a small kiss on Bodhi's forehead. "Love you." I smiled. "Love you too." She smiled back and left.
•••Bodhi clapped as I turned the tree on. "Yay!" He smiled. I smiled too. "One last touch." I grabbed the star topper and handed it to Brittany. She smiled as I picked her up. She laughed loudly and put the topper on. "Now the tree's complete." I said to Bodhi. He smiled widely and went to look at the ornaments. I wrapped my arm around Brittany's waist and she leaned into me.
