It took what felt like days to get back to S.H.I.E.L.D but when they did get there Nick was waiting for him.
"You went on a mission with the Avengers without even telling anyone! That is strictly against our rules!" Nick shouted at Clinton. They were walking to his room.
Clinton didn't realize Thor was standing right behind him until he spoke. "Fury, indeed he broke your rule. However this boy did... umm save us." He struggled on the last word.
Nick looked from Clinton to Thor to back to Clinton. He sighed.
"Come with me kid." Clinton followed.

"Do you know what it's like to be an Avenger? Strong, intelligent and blah blah blah and so on?" Nick asked Clinton.
Clinton made eye contact. "Sort of. Maybe I guess."
"Well you'll know now Agent Barton." Nick Fury grabbed a bow from a nearby shelf. He held it up to Clinton. "You want to be an Avenger?"
