Chanyeol didn't speak, and when the time started to stretch and the silence continued, Baekhyun began to lose his hope. But then Chanyeol leaned forward and gently pulled Baekhyun into his arms, tucking his head into his chest as he hugged him as tightly as he dared.

Baekhyun felt a cold drop of liquid hit his cheek just before Chanyeol whispered in a cracked voice, "Please, say it again?"

Baekhyun sniffled and clutched tightly to Chanyeol as he quietly cried, "I love you. I love you so much, Chanyeol."

Another tear hit Baekhyun's cheek before Chanyeol gently grabbed his shoulders and pushed him back. Chanyeol searched Baekhyun's face, their pain reflecting each others, and then he leaned forward, cupping Baekhyun's cheeks before he kissed him. Making the kiss the tenderest kiss they had ever shared before they broke apart and gently rested their foreheads together as he whispered, "I love you too, Baekhyun. And I promise, I'll do my best. I'll keep you safe and I'll cherish you. And I'll never ever hurt you." He soothingly caressed Baekhyun's cheek with his thumb before gently kissing him again. Then he let go and gathered him into his arms, holding him close as he gently rocked him back and forth.
