~Ein's POV~
"J-Jessica, there's something you should know."
I hear the words escape from Kai's mouth, but inside of me knew I should stop him from telling her.
"Wait!" I yell out loud, making everyone look in my direction. My face burns red from the embarrassment, but I return my gaze back onto my sister.
"I want to tell her... She is my sister after all..."
"Are you sure?" I hear Kai ask.
"As sure as I'll ever be," I reply back. Kai walks towards me and gives me a kiss.
"Be careful," I hear him whisper in my ear.
"Don't worry, she's my sister. We'll all be there for her," I whisper back.
Kai looks at me with a smile on his face, making me smile back. One last kiss was all I felt before I returned back to reality. After that, I felt the pain and anxiety coursing back through my body. I close my eyes and take a deep breath before opening them once more.
"Jessica," I say silently with a calm and steady voice, "we're going to visit dad."
"What do you mean? Isn't dad on that business trip with mom?" Tears start to form in my eyes once again.
"God, why is this so hard?" I mumble under my breath. "Jessica... *sniff* mom and dad were in a car crash and... *sniff*, I don't know if dad's going to make it." I start to see tears form in Jessica's eyes, making my heart break even more than it was before.
"What a-about mom? Is she o-okay??" Jessica looks right into my eyes and into my soul, giving me a look that I had never seen before.
"Yeah, she is." I start to see Jessica calm down a little, but not enough for her to stop shaking.
Before I knew it, I hear her mumble something under her breath and instantly runs off towards the hospital. I take off after her, my friends following behind.
"Jessica!" I shout at the top of my lungs. I enter the building and see her standing in an elevator right before the door shut.
"Where is she going?" I hear Aph ask.
"To my dad," I silently utter out.
I spot a man behind a counter, and instantly rush towards it.
"Hi, how may I help you?" The man looks up at me with a kind smile.
"I'm here to see someone of mine," I speak in a low, calm voice as if I wasn't going to collapse at any moment.
"First and last name of the patient please."
"Roy Foncé." The man looks back down at his computer, and then back at me.
"Ahh, you're Roy's son, okay. He is on the third floor staying in room 129."
"Okay, thanks." I say and dash towards the elevator. Frantically pressing the button with an upward arrow on it, I could feel my heart racing and my palms getting sweatier the longer I was there.
"Calm down Ein, everything's going to be alright," I hear Kai whisper in my ear. I close my eyes once again and the next thing I hear is the elevator door opening.
Once we were in the elevator, I tried my hardest to stay still but the longer I stood there, the harder that became. Then, I finally hear the elevator ring and the door opened. I leap out, quickly running past the rooms that turned into a blur.
"127,128.. 129!" I say to myself as I pass by the open rooms. The room my dad was in was already open and I see three people standing in the room. I slowly walk in while trying to catch my breath, and what I saw on the hospital bed was a mangled up man. What I had felt then, was indescribable.
My stomach had turned upside down, making me want to throw up. I could hardly breathe and when I could, I was choking on my own saliva. More tears slid down my cheeks, some into my mouth where I could taste the bitter, salty taste. I inch towards my mom and sister, looking at the mess that was before me, who was my father.
"D-dad?" I quietly murmur out.
"He can't hear you." I look up to find a man standing beside me. He had a doctor's coat on that was all white and the glasses he had on were black and red with big lenses in them. I saw a few machines in the room that I didn't recognize but the machine I did know was the Cardiac machine.
"I'm sorry you have to witness this Ein, knowing you're still just a kid." The tall doctor spoke at me with a low, deep voice.
"It's fine," I say, obviously lying.
"Mrs. Foncé, may I have a word with you outside?" My mom nods her head and walks silently outside with the doctor. When they had left, they left the door wide open, luckily, making me be able to make out their conversation.
"Mrs. Foncé," I hear the doctor say, "your husband, isn't doing so well and the condition he is in right now... doesn't look like it's going to get any better."
"Yes, I know doctor, but please give me some more time. I can't let go of him now." I imagine my mom crying during the conversation, shaking and worried for the sake of her family.
"I'm very sorry Mrs. Foncé, but your husband isn't going to make it. He barely made it to the hospital... It's time to let him go and pull the plug."
"P-please, give me more-"
Before my mom could finish her sentence, I hear a familiar woman's voice suddenly barge into the conversation.
"I think I can help."
No way could it be her, I think to myself.
I move towards the door with the rest of my group following behind me, then suddenly, I stop at the door frame, seeing her standing there with her long, orange hair and her bright red eyes. My eyes grow wide from shock, never thinking of seeing her here so soon.
"Lucinda," I mumble beneath my breath.
