Chapter 11

~Ein's POV~

I sit across the bed from Kai, a towel around my neck and my hair still wet from the water. I let a long pause linger, before finally speaking. "Last year... I was abused by a girl, who also happened to be my girlfriend..." I felt a lump in my throat so I swallow a bit of saliva, making my mouth go dry. "I had gone to a private school called, Prestigious Heights. It was a stuck-up, wannabe school that had copied other schools, then told fake rumors about those schools just so they could stay on top... Most of the students there acted innocent and kind but beneath it all, they were snobby and malicious. Any small mistake you made, would never fade away, making you feel worthless and feel like shit about yourself, but some of them... some of them weren't like that." I let a silent pause run by, letting the words sink. "Then one day, I had met her."

~Flashback Part 1~

"Bye mom!" I say excitedly as I walk out of the door.

"Have a great first day at your new school sweetie! Make sure to make tons of friends and be safe!" My mom yells back while winking at me.

"Mom!!"

"I'm joking! But really, be safe." I playfully smile and shake my head as I walk out of the door, towards my new school. I arrive at the front gate, staring at how massive the school really was.

Wow, this looks nothing like I had imagined! It's fucking huge!

As I keep gawking blankly at the school, I notice people staring at me, so I shrug it off and head through the tall, metal gate. Along the outline of the school, was a tall brick wall surrounding the whole school, with metal bars as the gate's entrance and gargoyles on each side of it. Once I had entered through the school, a girl with bright orange hair and light red eyes greeted me.

"Hi!" She greeted with a warm smile. "Welcome to, Prestigious Heights! It's always nice to see some new faces around here!"

"Er... hi." I say shyly. "The name's, Ein." The girl just stares at me intently, never letting her smile fade.

"I'm, Lucinda. Nice to meet you, Ein." Lucinda holds her hand out to me, making me pause before grabbing it and shaking it.

"Nice to meet you too." I say as I nervously walk past her, still feeling her gaze on me like a predator watching its prey. I don't look back as I head to my locker, fumbling to put my bag in it. Then, a group of people approach me all at once. They all had kind smiles on their faces, so I just smiled back, feeling that if I didn't, I would come off as mean or something.

"Hey there fella! Haven't seen you around before. What's your name?" A guy with dark pink hair greeted me.

"M-my name's Ein." I stutter out.

"Nice to meet you, Ein! I'm, Jack Begonia!" When I saw Jack smile, it made me happy and safe and for some reason, his smile looked different from Lucinda's. It looked more, welcoming.

Jack was a werewolf just like me. He had dark pink hair, the same black and white uniform on as me, and his eyes were different colors. His right eye was a pretty dark red and the other seemed to be a beautiful bright gold color. His tail and ears were the same color as his hair, but a bit lighter with the tip being slightly darker.

After he had greeted me, other various people started to introduce themselves as well, but I barely paid any attention to them. For the rest of the day, I had stuck with Jack and it had seemed that way for almost the rest of the year.

~End of Flashback Part 1~

"By December 31st, Jack had confessed to me at a New Year's Eve party and I had gratefully said yes, making him my first boyfriend. I had shared my first kiss with him on that same night and that was the first time I didn't feel completely alone. That day was the start of the happiest year of my life, but also the beginning of the worst year of my life. I had done almost everything with Jack. He was my best friend and my boyfriend, all in one. He was always there for me, but I couldn't be there for him... I couldn't do anything..." I could feel tears rising in my eyes, but I managed to keep it barely hidden. "After he had confessed to me, strange things had started to happen to the both of us. Then suddenly, Jack had just... disappeared." I pause again, silently trying to collect my thoughts before speaking again.
