Back Home
Landing,
The normal bump
And the uncoordinated
Claps, and laughs.
Looking at the wonder
On the faces,
Whose this is only the second
Landing ever.
To see the steps,
That will always terrify
And thrill me,
As I descend.
Touching the tarmac
Same worldwide,
But I'm home.
Stepping off the plane.
Smiling faces,
They are glad to
Feel solid land
Beneath their feet.
Bings, as mobiles
Get consulted,
And their times changed,
To GMT, back to home.
The walk through the airport,
The security checks,
Catching luggage,
Off the carousel.
All in the daze
Of the night,
But always
Glad to be home.
Frantic texts to
Eagerly waiting parents,
And a sleepy ride
Back to school.
Receive the hugs,
Fetch the cases,
Back to the car,
And back to the English food!
The following day,
Back in school,
You realise,
You were missed.
People ask,
How was it?
Your answer-
Perfect.
