Love Nikki Chapter Summary (more or less)

Chapter 8

They reach Moonlit City after a long walk. They meet a girl that lives in the city. They ask the girl for directions for the silk shop so they can find Lunar. She says she will tell them only if she is defeated. After the girl gets defeated, they head towards the silk shop. When they enter they see the store has been robbed so they ask a worker what happened. He tells them the Moonlit City's mayor sent someone to the silk shop, and they took Lunar and the spices that dye cloth. They see Mela of Iron Rose and Mela approaches them. They found out the person the mayor sent to rob the store was Mela. Mela wasn't over her loss when she battled Nikki, so she challenges Nikki to a battle. After the battle, they go around town looking for answers and they find out that the mayor used to be kind, but when the Iron Rose Legion showed up she completely changed. They decide to go to the mayor's mansion to look for Lunar. On the way, she bumps into a man that seems to be from the Apple Federation. The group remembers that Yvette and Nidhogg talked about a guest that is easy to recognize. They introduce themselves and the man tells them his name is Orlando. They find out that they have the same goal so they look or the mayor together. Orlando tells Momo, Nikki, and Bobo what he learned. He tells them Queen Elle sent an envoy of the Iron Rose to Moonlit City which made the other nations suspicious. Queen Nanari told Nidhogg to check the situation but he couldn't so Orlando was sent instead. Nikki then asks Orlando why Lisa was trying to steal the Star Sea. He tells her that it is a political affair of the Lilith Kingdom, so it's none of his business but he does tell her what he knows. He tells her Lisa is neither the manager of the theater nor a thief but that was just following orders. But the plan backfired and failed. After all of this information, the group is still confused. They enter the mansion and find out the mayor was the passerby from the beginning of the chapter. The group is shocked and confused. Nikki asks the mayor why she took Lunar and the spices. She tells Nikki if she wants to know when she has to beat her. After the battle, they find Lunar and the mayor reveals what is actually going on. She tells them that when Mela came to make deals with the mayor, she pretended to accept those deals. She actually took the materials and kept them in a safe spot. She also asked Lunar's mother to make pretty but common clothes and design so she could deceive Mela. Nikki then asked about the yeast powder that was put into the dye, and the mayor tells her it was for show so Mela would think that the Calico was destroyed. When Lunar arrived the day before, the mayor sent people to damage the silk shop, but they also brought Lunar and helped her make designs and clothes. Nikki then finds out that the other nations are preparing to attack the Pigeon Kingdom and Queen Elle. The mayor tells Nikki that if she wants answers to the prophecy and how to get back to earth then they should visit the Star Seer. Orlando suggests that they should go to the Fantasy Styling Contest in the capital of Lilith. Bobo decides that she will sign Nikki up for the contest. (This next part is from the side levels) Momo, Nikki, and Bobo see Lisa and confront her. Lisa tells them that if they want to know what happened to her they have to beat her. After they beat Lisa, she tells them that she is an agent for the Lilith government. The original plan was to protect the Star Sea from the Phantom Thief, but Niddhog and the thief family had negotiated an agreement. Bobo asked why there were guards sent to catch the thief. Lisa tells her they were a distraction and that they need to catch someone to hide the truth, so they sent Lisa. Momo is shocked that they did so much to deceive a common enemy. Nikki asks who the common enemy is, and Lisa tells her she will soon find out.
