Chapter 08

They became friends in a short period of time because they have the same dream.For 2 months, they struggled together, they laughed together, they cried together and they’ve shared their memories with each other, for good and for bad. They’ve learned many life lessons with each other. They make mistakes together, work hard together and stay all night to practice hard together. They did almost everything together. But everything has its ending. Farewell has finally arrived. Those 2 months that they have been together have truly been a precious time. Everyone say goodbye to each other, and cheer on each other. “Dream”, This phrase begins with “Dream”but in reality, achieving everything can’t always fulfill all of the heart’s desires.

All of the 97 Trainees entered the ranking room with dread lacing their heart but they need to cheer up for the national producers. One by one/By Entertainments, The trainees gave their introductions and New Year Greetings on their own comical way. The last but not the least is the only girl and their only angel, Kim Se Yeon. She gracefully enters the stage with amazing continuous pique turns with a demure smile plastered in her small face. Every turn she make, her hair follows her every move. She stops in the middle and bow gracefully with her right leg slightly behind the other and bending her knees slightly. The boys watch in awe like they’ve watch some performance by a royalty. They’ve never seen this demure personality of Kim Se Yeon, they always thought that she’s very thick-face because of how she acts without care on what will the others think. But now is seems so different, or so they thought. From a Dumure and Princess-y attitude, Se Yeon was brought back to herself. She made an action of a bow and arrow and shoot it towards the boys with her fingers shaped in small heart. The boys act like they have been shot.

“ May you have a prosperous New Year. Happy New Year everyone. “ Kim Se Yeon said with an eyesmile everyone loves. She make her way towards the others and sat beside the Yuehua Entertainment, mainly beside Zhu Zhengting because she was assigned to seat next to Yuehua Entertainment Trainees. Then PD Zhang enters with an intimidating aura like always. Se Yeon cannot comprehend that this guy infront of them is the same Oppa that teaches her how to dance. The same Oppa that she always adore because of his dimples and dancing skill. The same Oppa that she always teasing but still cares deeply for her.

“ Today, I feel like everyone’s appearances are different. How are you guys ? Have everything been going well recently ? Everyone has changed their hairstyle and their hair color. Very Handsome and of course, Beautiful. But, from your eyes, I can also see a trace of exhaustion. I emphatize with you guys. Continue to Jiayou. “ Zhang Yixing said with so much emotion. When he mentioned about the new hair color, he looked directly to Kim Se Yeon who has her hair with a violet ombre. The other trainees did change their hair styles a bit and it only makes them more handsome and attractive.

I miss them and we haven’t have a heart to heart talk since then I’ve became a trainee. “ Kim Se Yeon answered, slightly sensitive about the topic because she really miss her family so much. Eventhough she’s just a trainee, she’s really busy. From practicing and working hard to debut soon. Zhu Zhengting put a hand on her back, caressing slightly to comfort her.

“ I understand. Because of their dream, everyone struggles out in the world. We leave our hometowns to work hard elsewhere. It truly is difficult. This is also the result of the first test that the market has given you since the show is aired. Everyone can see that right now infront of you,what was originally 100 seats now only has 60 left. Rank 61 to 97 will eliminated directly. “ PD Zhang stated. The Trainees reacts with nervousness eating their nerves.

“ Think how aweful will it be if you rank 61. This is so terrifying. “ Se Yeon murmured to Zhu Zhengting.

So now, Idol Producer’s First ranking starts now. “ PD Zhang announced. The trainees’ heart all go haywire because of nervousness and anxiousness. The first ranking is officially started and it is rather terrifying more than how it looks.

PD Zhang announced the trainees ranked starting from 59 and leaving the rank 60 to be the last. And now, PD Zhang will announce those on higher ranks. Rank 20 to Rank 10.

“ Relax. Don’t think any problems.” Zhu Zhengting comforted Li Quanzhe who is now very nervous because his name wasn’t announced yet and he’s losing fate.

“ The trainee that is Rank 20… In the first four weeks, He received 1, 178, 626 votes. With his un exceptional dancing abilities, he caught the citizen producer’s attention. “ PD Zhang said.

Ciwen Media, Dong Yanlei “ PD Zhang said. Dong Yanlei happily stood up as the trainees clapped for him.

Cute Little Prince, Ling Chao ! “ Ling Chao stood up with a smile on his face. He cannot believe that he would rank 17th place !

“ Next, we will announce the trainee in 16th place. “ PD Zhang said.

“ Next announcing rank- 15th trainee. He received from Citizen producers , a total of 1,689,966 votes. He has a healthy skin color. “ PD Zhang said. The trainees’ gaze automatically flew and linger to Lin Chaoze while he look up with a hopeful glint in his eyes.

“ Lin Chaoze has a healthy skin color. “ Qin Fen commented.

Lin Chaoze. “ The trainees erupts in clapped.

“ Next announcing the trainee in 13th Place, He received a total of 2,046,180 votes. He is Huayi Brothers Fashion’s Trainee Jeffrey ! “ PD Zhang said and Jeffrey stood up.

“ Next I will announce the trainee in Rank 12. From Citizen Producers, he received a total of 2,172,301 votes. He is from……. “ PD Zhang purposely stop mid sentence to give some thrilling effect.

“ It is okay, Quanzhe. Trust me, you’ll not going to go home today.” Kim Se Yeon whispered to Li Quanzhe.

“ Simple Joy Music. Congratulations, Wang Zi Yi. “ PD Zhang announced. Zhu Zhengting put an arm around Li Quanzhe’s shoulder and silently tapped it to say that it is okay.

“ I feel like our hamster is panicking. “ Justin commented.

You Zhangjing raced towards the podium. Li Quanzhe looks a little down now. Zhu Zhengting hugged Li Quanzhe while Se Yeon is looking at him with sad face. But Kim Se Yeon is certain that he won’t go home today because he’s talented and also handsome. He has it all.

“ Next, I will reveal the Trainee who is ranked 10th. From debuting rank, he only has one step left. From Citizen Producers, he received a total of 2,443,819 votes. He is from…….

Hongyi Entertainment. Ho Dongdong. “ PD Zhang announced and the said Trainee goes infront.

“ Congratulations to the Rank 20 to Rank 10. Swift horses are found but Bo Le is rare (Chinese Saying that means talent is everywhere but the chance to be discovered is rare.) so we always need to be grateful to those who gave you a chance, Opportunities are always given to those who are prepared. Everyone has cried their own tears. Behind those tears, There’s a reason and a story. We treasure emotions and friendship. I think that’s great. But reality is always accompanied by cruelty. I hope every trainee understands. “ PD Zhang stated seriously and now, The trainees are crying and some are preventing their tears to fall. Even Kim Se Yeon is crying while Fan Cheng Cheng is tapping her shoulder to comfort her. She doesn’t care even she went home now, she only cares to the trainees that will go home because they dreams. Kim Se Yeon can reach her dream to be an idol even if she doesn’t win in this competition. She’s from a huge and famous entertainment and she'll debut soon with her other Unnies. But those trainees, she wasn’t sure about it. They are pure talent and she cannot afford to think that those talent will be wasted.

“ Now, According to Citizen Producer’s heart, Those trainees who are close to their dream of debut. Who are they ? First, to reveal the rank 9. From Citizen Producers, he received a total of 2,456,778 votes. He is from…. Yuehua Entertainment. “ PD Zhang smiled at the Yuehua Entertainment. Kim Se Yeon wiped her tears and look at the Yuehua Entertainment with a motherly smile.

“ At some point in time, He fulfilled his promise to let everyone wear brightly coloured clothes. “ PD Zhang said. Li Quanzhe heave a deep sigh. The trainees stood up and clap, knowing who it was. Se Yeon cheerfully stood up while clapping really hard, even if it hurts her palms. She’s doing it because she wants to support her friend, even if it hurts her.

“ Congratulations to Li Quanzhe.” PD Zhang announced with a smile. The Yuehua Boys all cheered and hug Li Quanzhe who is still shookt by the announcement. After the hug, Se Yeon goes to Li Quanzhe and hug him, surprising everyone even Li Quanzhe himself.

“ You’ve made it. I told you, you will make it. I’m so proud of you. We are so proud of you.” Kim Se Yeon said with smiling and a slightly teary eyes. Eventhough she wouldn’t admit it, Li Quanzhe also became part of those special persons who made it to her circle of heart ever since he had helped her in her luggage.

“ Just now, Offstage, Your various facial expressions. I saw all of it. Did you think of this would happen ? “ PD Zhang asked

“ Uwah~ How did it go from 19 votes to 2 million ? Thank you, Citizen Producers and PD. Thank you. I never thought I would be in Top 9. I will not disappoint your expectations. I will work harder. And show a better me. Thank you everyone. “ As Li Quanzhe finished and bow, all of the trainees are either with teary eyes or crying. Even Li Quanzhe’s voice it trembling while he delivers his speech. The trainees clapped for him.

“ Next, I will announce the trainee in 8th place. From the citizen producers, he received a total of 3,352,131 votes. He’s witty and cute. And yet, Tall and mighty. Congratulations Qin Entertainment’s Trainee. Bu Fan.” The trainees once again clapped their hands. He delivered a speech like others did.

“ Next I will announce the trainee in 7th Rank. From the citizen producers, he received a total of 5,532,434 votes. He is a rapper but showed his vocal ability to the citizen producers. He is from Gramarie Entertainment, Xiao Gui. Congratulations. “ The trainees clapped again and he did the same thing, others did.

“ Next is the 6th rank. He received a total of 6,539,548 votes. He is from… Yuehua Entertainment.



Congratulations, Zhu Zhengting. “ After PD Zhang teases him, he finally announced his name after a long pause. The Yuehua Boys stood up and hug Zhu Zhengting. After their hug, Zhu Zhengting pulled Kim Se Yeon into a tight hug.

“ You will join us, right ? “ Zhu Zhengting said. Kim Se Yeon nod and hug him too.

“ I will. “ She said with a smile. Zhu Zhengting made his way to the podium and just like other, he made his speech.

“ Next is the 5th rank. From the citizen producers, he received a total of 6,608,579 votes. Congratulations Yuehua Entertainment’s Trainee Justin. “ The trainees once again erupts with applause. The remaining Yuehua boys wrap each other in a tight hug. After the hug, Justin made his way towards Kim Se Yeon who is smiling widely to him. Justin wrap his arms tightly around the lass small frame.

“ You will make it, Our Princess. “ Justin said to Se Yeon. Se Yeon nodded and return his hug. The when the hug broked up, Justin made his way towards the podium beside Zhang Yixing and also made his speech.

“ Idol Producer, First rank evaluation is now left with 4 trainees that hasn’t been announced yet. The Top 4 trainees will become the candidates for Rank 1. Now, I will announce the 4 trainees who got into top 4. “ Now, it is time for the most excruciating and terrifying part. All of the trainees are now very anxious and nervous.

“ Fan Cheng Cheng. Cai Xu Kun. Chen Linong and Kim Se Yeon. “ The said trainees all stood up and bow politely.

“ I will remind everyone here the very last Rank 1 in Idol Producer will unconditionally become the center in the 9-member group that will be debuting. Eventhough the ranking now isn’t the final ranking but who will be the one who is the closest to the center position ? Now, let’s us announce the trainee in Rank 4. From the Citizen Producers, He received a total of 6,716,169 votes. He, from the beginning of the program has received high amount of discussions. In the group performance, He showed his vocal skills. He is…. Fan Cheng Cheng from Yuehua Entertainment. “ PD Zhang announced and Cheng Cheng stood up in glee. Kim Se Yeon hug him and he return the favour.

“ I’m going to join you. “ Kim Se Yeon murmured.

“ You should be. “ Fan Cheng Cheng said. He then run his way towards the podium and made his speech.

“ Now for the 3rd Rank. He received a total of 7,409, 338 votes from the Citizen Producers. Congratulations to Chen Linong. “ PD Zhang said and all of the trainees all clap again. Chen Linong made his way towards the podium and made his speech.

“ Now, There are only 2 Trainees left for Rank 1. Can I invite the two trainees up on stage ? “ PD Zhang requested. Kim Se Yeon and Cai Xu Kun both stood up and made their way towards the center. When Kim Se Yeon is walking down the stairs, Cai Xu Kun held her hands to support her from tripping out because the stairs is quite narrow. Se Yeon smiled at him being a gentleman.

“ Can you two please stand on the two round stages. “ PD Zhang said. The Two did what he had said.

“ An Individual Trainee, Cai Xu Kun, has always captured the attention of the Citizen Producers. Is the center for the theme song performances and is an all-rounded trainee who can take on both sexy and cute styles. While an SM Entertainment Trainee, Kim Se Yeon, has a fresh child-like smiles that always make her eyes to disappear whenever she smiles. She is the only girl and the only full Korean Trainee trained in Korea but has no difficulty in approaching others. In the PPAP Performance, she shows her cute, cool and sexy contrast that has  gotten the highest number of votes from the citizen producers. She has a wide variation of emotions that she can easily show through facial expressions. Both are really amazing. Congratulations to the both of you. “ PD Zhang stated and the trainees clap while the duo keeps bowing, showing how thankful they are.

“ Se Yeon, In week 2, You ranked first but In week 3, You were overtaken by Cai Xu Kun. This time, do you have the confidence to sit in the first rank seat ? “ PD Zhang asked Kim Se Yeon.

“ I don’t. “ Kim Se Yeon answered with a slight blush in her cheeks.

“ Alright, Cai Xu Kun, What about you? “ PD Zhang asked. Cai Xu Kun answered “no” too.

“ Both sides are very humble. Now I will announce Idol Producer’s First Place of the first ranking reveal. “ PD Zhang said. Cai Xu Kun raised his hand to hold Kim Se Yeon’s hand. Kim Se Yeon did the same, Xu Kun intertwining their fingers.

“ The votes of first place is exceeded 10 million and the vote for second place is just a vote behind. “ PD Zhang informed the trainees.

“ One vote behind ?! Well that’s cool ! “ -random trainee.

“ Received from the citizen producers a total of 11,254,646 votes. Right here, The 2nd Place’s votes is now obvious. The 2nd Place got 11,254,645 votes. Very close. “ PD Zhang said. The Trainees still cannot believe that the only difference is only one vote.

“ Congratulations……… Cai Xu Kun.” The trainees all stood up and erupts into applause again. Kim Se Yeon turn to Cai Xu Kun and smiles gratefully. Cai Xu Kun step down from the circle stage and hug Se Yeon.

“ Come and Express your feelings.” PD Zhang said. Cai Xu Kun goes back to the circle podium then motioned to Se Yeon that she will go first while whispering, “Ladies first.”

“ First, I want to say a big Thank you to the the Citizen and National Producers that believes on my talent and voted me. I swear, You won’t regret wasting your time to vote for me because instead of slacking off, I’m going to work much harder for all of you. And for the Gems, My babies. Thank you for supporting me from the very start. Thank you for being with me through ups and downs. If you aren’t there, then I won’t be here infront of you. I won’t be singing, I won’t be dancing. And there’s no Kim Se Yeon on this Idol World. Thank you to you too, PD Zhang, The mentors and also the staff for taking care of us. And the trainees, You all work hard. Thank you for all of the memories we’ve shared, close or not, you are all in my heart. You’re not going to be forgotten. Yeah, You don’t get to Rank 60 but all of you proved that you are talented. Maybe your battle here is finished but the outside world, There’s so many opportunities that will come to you. Don’t be sad. God probably has a different plan for all of you. You maybe not succeed today, but don’t worry, You have all your life to make yourself succeed. Thank you. Jiayou. “ Kim Se Yeon said inbetween her sobbing. Cai Xu Kun also made his speech and after he spoke, He went to Se Yeon again and personally wipe her non-stop flowing tears using his bare hands.

“ Please go to your positions. “ PD Zhang said. Cai Xu Kun held Kim Se Yeon’s wrist and they both ascend to their supposed seat. The trainees congratulates them as they pass. Zhu Zhengting, Justin and Chaoze went down to personally gave them a hug and they all went to their desired seat together. The Top 60 is later then announced. He is Hu Zhibang.
