CHAPTER 30
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I didn't want to make a big deal out of all this so I casually walked away to cool off. I know Luke. He would never do anything on purpose to upset me. I found Black Mike fiddling with his camera.
"Hey can we go somewhere...else?" I asked.
"Uh yeah sure where ya wanna go?" He asked.
"Anywhere." I said.
He nodded.
We walked around backstage and he showed me all the equipment and what goes on "behind the scenes."
"I'm gonna get some water." I said as we were approaching a vending machine.
"Ok. Hey are you alright? Your face has been pale this entire time and you seem out of it." He said. I could tell he was trying to help.
"Um sorta. You promise you won't tell Luke this?" I asked kind of hesitant.
"Won't tell Luke what?" I heard a familiar deep southern accent say.
I turned around to see Luke standing there with a frown on his face and his hands in his pockets.
"I uh gotta go. See you guys later" Black Mike said. He's smart.
"What can't you tell me? Does this have to do with last night when you were up late?" He asked.
"No it's not-"
"Then what is it!" He was getting more frustrated.
"Luke you're on in five." We heard someone say.
Luke sighed and ran his hands over his face.
"Alright." And with that he walked off towards the stage.
Him being mad at me gives me a headache. I don't know if he's really mad at me, but it kind of seems like it. I feel sick to my stomach. I chugged the bottle of water and found a spot on the side of the stage to watch Luke. I definitely was too tired to stand up the entire time, so I grabbed a chair and tried to relax.
I heard the very familiar beat coming through the speakers.
"What's up Tennessee?!" I heard Luke say as he stepped onto the truck.
The whole concert Luke wasn't himself. I saw Black Mike stop recording him after the first two songs. Luke seems tired, but I knew what was really going on.
It was just when I Don't Want This Night To End started playing when my eyelids couldn't stay open anymore. I ran by Black Mike and told him I'm going back to the bus.
I took off what I was wearing and put Luke's red T-shirt on. This one is becoming my favorite.
I laid down and fell asleep right away.
*About an hour later*
I felt the bed move a little and my right side sink. It must be Luke.
After that happened, I couldn't get back to sleep. The whole Meet & Greet thing was still bothering me. I sat up and saw Luke sound asleep. Then my eyes travelled to his jeans lying on the floor. Hmm.
I slowly reached over and picked them up. I dug through his back pocket and found the piece of paper that girl put in there.
It was her number and said "text me(;"
I could feel my fists tightening up. I looked at Luke and stuck my tongue out at him. It's not even his fault but I'm pregnant and I'm mad.
That's when I saw it. His cell phone. I probably shouldn't go through it...that'd be bad. Well, maybe just one look...no. I can't. Ugh. I pressed the home button and saw his lock screen picture. It was a "selfie" we took on the night we met each other. We were both smiling like crazy. Awe.
