CHAPTER 32

Today's the baby shower! We're just having it at Luke and I's house and inviting our family and closest friends. In 3 weeks it will mark the date for me to be 5 months. This pregnancy has flown by. Christmas is also in about 2 weeks. That came out of nowhere.

I set out all the food and drinks in the kitchen for everybody. Of course there was beer for anybody that wanted it, but since I'm pregnant and can't have any, I doubt anybody will drink it.

There's a bunch of pink decorations and pink desserts. I think me and Luke did a pretty nice job.

I heard the doorbell ring and then a few hey's and hi's. I walked into the living room to see BK and Brittany. Brittany had an arm full of pink gift bags.

"Britt you didn't have to!"

"Oh yes I did! Girl I'm so happy for y'all!"

We talked with them and then Tyler and his girlfriend Hayley showed up. Luke's parents showed up next with Jordan and Kris. My parents flew into Tennessee a couple days ago, so they're already here. Jason and his girlfriend showed up, then Dierks and his wife Cassidy, and then Luke's band members crowded in.

I saw a familiar car pull in and someone get out that looked so distinct. It's Allison!

She came in and immediately saw me and gasped. We talked for so long and caught up on everything. I lost track of time and realized we should all have lunch and stuff. A few more friends came in and we ate and talked about how the pregnancy was going. I hadn't told anyone about us getting engaged yet, but I planned on it today. Before everyone showed up, I took my ring of just so no one got suspicious.

"Okay y'all, Luke and I got some news!" I stood up and said.

"It better not be twins!" Britt shouted. Everyone laughed.

I laughed and shook my head.

I pulled out my ring from my pocket and put it on it front of everyone. I looked at Luke and nodded, meaning for him to say it.

"We're engaged!" He said and threw his hands up.

All the guys crowded around Luke and did the usual bro hug/hand shake guys do. The girls circled around me to see the ring and to congratulate us.

I took the girls upstairs to show them the baby's room. They all fell in love. We had only painted it a light shade of pink and put darker pink curtains on the window. So far it looked nice.

We headed back out into the hallway when I saw Allison open the door to me and Luke's room.

"And this is where baby Bryan was conceived!" She said jokingly. Everyone laughed.

"Actuallyyy she was conceived in a tree stand." I said chuckling at the memory of it.

Everyone gasped and laughed.

We walked downstairs to where the guys were and got the cake out. Me and Luke stood in front and cut in and handed pieces to everyone. We all talked some more and I got to know everyone better.

"Alright shall we open up the gifts?" Jordan said.

We all circled up in the living room. Luke and I sat at the beginning of the circle, then BK and Britt, Ty and Hayley, and so on.

Kris brought the gifts to Luke and I to open.

"This one is from Cassidy and Dierks!" I said and I tore open the big box. It was a play pen!

"Aww thank y'all so much!"

As we opened up the gifts, Luke and I had smiles plastered on our faces. This wasn't Luke's normal smile, it was a smile that showed all his teeth, a very bright smile.

"Here baby, you can open this one" I handed Luke the last gift bag.

He took the tissue paper out and pulled out an envelope.

"Babe who is this from?" Luke asked.

"Uhh" I checked the bag for a name.

"Oh! This is from all of our parents!" I told everyone.

He opened up the envelope to find two plane tickets to Jamaica and a hotel reservation there.

"Oh my gosh!" I said.

"Wow! Thank y'all!" Luke said.

"It's for y'all's honeymoon. You leave July 1st so make your wedding date before that!" LeClaire said.

We hugged everyone and said thank you and watched everyone leave.

We had gotten a changing table, lots of clothes, shoes, diapers, bibs, burp rags, a play pen, and some more needed baby things.

Luke and I cleaned up the mess and put all her clothes in her closet and all the things in her room.

"Looks good baby! I think she'll like it." Luke said looking at all our work.

"Yeah! Now we just need a crib and and a dresser and we'll be done." I said.

Luke wrapped his strong arms around me and gave me a passionate kiss. He then knelt down and placed his hands on my belly and just smiled. That smile was priceless.

"Have you thought about any names for her?" He asked, still caressing my stomach and smiling. A smile that it hard to take away.

"Sort of. But I want us both to come up with her name." I said playing with Luke's hair.

"Uhhh that feels good" he said closing his eyes.

I laughed. He really loves that.

He grabbed my hand and sat me down on our bed.

"Okay what names do you like?" H asked sitting in front of me.

"Um my favorites are Bethanie, Elisa, and Marie." I said.

"I like those! I think I like Bethanie the most." He said.

I smiled. "What names do you like?" I asked him.

"I like Bethanie, Riley, and Poppie." Luke said.

"Poppie??" I asked. Um I don't know if I like that.

"I'm just playin!" He laughed.

"I think she seems like a Bethanie, that way I can call her my little B." Luke said.

"Bethanie Kelly Bryan." I said looking Luke in his perfect brown eyes.

"Wait what?" He asked with widened eyes.

"Bethanie Kelly Bryan." I said.

He kind of started stuttering.

"K-kelly?" He asked choking up.

I put my hands on his thighs and leaned over to him.

"I thought we could have her middle name be Kelly." I said.

"I love it baby, thank you. Kelly would have loved that." He said pulling me into a tight hug.

Later that night Luke and I laid in bed cuddled up talking. He started humming something and I asked him to sing it.

"If it's 2 in the morning and you're feeling lonely and wondering what I'm doin.....go ahead and call me, call me, call me" he sang the rest of the song and kissed my stomach.

"My lil B Bryan." He smiled.
