"It isn't in my blood!....." (guitar strums)
"Thank you, thank you!"
Setting down my guitar safely, I took a bow in front of my fake audience a.k.a my band posters and almost slipped from my bed. My room door was suddenly flung open. Startled, I did slip this time, landing on the floor with a thud.
"Owww! I hate you guys."
"Yeah, sure you do." Kyla let out one of her loud laughs.
Allison stared at me with her bright blue eyes. "What are you doing?"
"Sitting on the floor because it's like paradise." I rolled my eyes. Kyla extended her hand to help me up and then let go at the last minute, making me fall back again.
"Ughhh go away, Ky!"
Heh, she's busy laughing.
Allison, usually the quieter one, glared at both of us. "Come on you guys, we'll be late. I don't want to be late on the first day of our last year."
Our holidays were over! Yay!
In case you didn't get it, that was sarcasm.
My last year and then away from this place. I'm so happy. The heaviness of the drama in the past one and half year has finally caught up to me. Let's not even talk about him- I mean it.
Allison is our driver to school and back. She lives the farthest of us three, so she picks up Kyla and then me. We arrived on time despite Allison's fears. She's a top grade student and I wouldn't be surprised if she was made valedictorian of our class. Kyla's not bothered and I get good enough grades.
Coral High School, the only private school in our area, was a pretty well known school in Queensland. The faculty was good and the Principal, Ms. Terri was my mother's roommate in university, so they're good friends.
I relished the cool breeze of the air conditioning. It was the last week of January and it was terribly hot. Living in Brisbane, I was pretty used to the hot and cold weather.
Allison found a parking space so she reversed and then parked. She had this thing where she couldn't bear to go straight into the parking space. Don't ask me why.
Allison and Kyla suddenly stop talking abruptly. I looked at them to see them staring at the school doors with knowing expressions on their faces.
Please don't be what I think it is.
I promise I won't take any of Cameron's Cookies and Cream Hershey Drops, God.
Cameron Anderson was my annoying older brother. He was studying law in Boston at Harvard University. He was back home for two weeks, leaving again tonight and I absolutely loved eating his Hershey Drops. I mean come on, they taste heavenly.
