"Ok Alexis, throw it back" dad said to a four year old me.

"Ok daddy," I answered back.

Dad and I were playing with my new purple sparkly ball I got from the store yesterday.

I threw the ball as hard as I could and daddy had to run up to get it. I laughed because I didn't throw the ball for enough and because daddy runs funny. Daddy says he has something called a limp that makes him run like that. When I asked why he has it he wouldn't tell me. Dad got the ball and threw it back to me. Just before it got to me I jumped out of the way. It rolled behind me and I chased after it. When I got the ball I turned around and faced daddy 'ok pumpkin throw it back to daddy now' but this time his mouth didn't move and it made me laughed.

I thought it was funny when dad talked without moving his lips it always made me laugh, that's why he does it. I asked daddy once if he would show me how to do that trick and he did. I didn't get it the first time I needed more practice daddy would say. After a couple of days I was finally able to do it, just not as good as daddy. 'Ok daddy' I said without moving my lips chuckling to myself.

I threw it back and like last time daddy had to run up to get it. We did that for a couple hours before dad finally said "we better stop and go home Pumpkin before your mom worries about us."

I nodded my head and I ran over to daddy. We were walking home hand in hand when suddenly a black car pulled over next to us. A man got out and walked over to us. I was scared of this stranger so I squeezed daddy's hand

'It's ok pumpkin this man won't hurt us' daddy said, again without moving his lips. I chuckled and I new everything was ok.

"Good evening Tom, it's been a while hasn't it," the man said to dad.

"What do you want Derik" dad asked.

I looked up at dad's face and I've never seen him look so mad.

"You have a lovely daughter, she looks a lot like her mom except the eyes those are definitely from you". Derik said completely ignoring my dad's question.

"What do you want Derik" dad said a little more harsh then the last time. "We need your help, the oracle said it's out there and we need to find it before they do" Derik stated.

"What makes you think I would help you guys" dad said firmly.

"Because you don't want them to find it first and you know what would happen if they had it," said Derik. Dad sighed "do you guys have any idea where we should look?" dad asked Derik. "Yes, we- "

Beep beep.... Beep beep....Beep be-

I turned off my alarm and sat up in my bed. I dreamed about dad again, only it wasn't a dream it was a memory. That's all I have of dad and that's all I'll ever have because dad's gone and he's not coming back. I felt my eyes fill with liquid, I really miss dad "Lexi, you up yet it's time to get ready for school" mom yelled from down stairs interrupting my thoughts

"yah I'm up" I yelled back.

I wiped my eyes and pulled myself together. No point in laying back down now so I got out of bed and did my school morning routine. I went in the bathroom and took a twenty minute. shower. When I was done I dried my hair then walked back into my room and went over to my closet. I picked a blue top, black skinny jeans, and white shoes then I curled my hair in loose curls. As I was curling my hair I could smell mom's blueberry pancakes she makes every morning and it made my mouth water. My mom's blueberry pancakes are the only reason I get up on school mornings.

When I was done curling my hair I sprayed it and unplugged my curling iron then I sprinted down the stairs to the kitchen and shoved a pancake and a piece of bacon in my mouth.
