I was following Ms. Hennings she led me down a long hallway and down a couple flights of stairs. Finally we came to a hallway with a set of big cherry wood double doors at the end. When we got to the doors Ms. Henning put her hand on the door handle and paused. She looked at me as to ask if I were ready for this I nodded my head and she nodded back in reply. She pushed the doors open. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. When I opened my eyes I saw a huge room with a hall on our right and one straight ahead. Both the main area and the halls were filled with many people walking in and out of doors up and down a set of stairs. I assumed that this hall was on the main floor. The windows in the hall were ceiling to floor windows. From where I was standing I could see a lot of the schoolyard. From what I could make out it was very pretty and I could see how many people would like this place and was able to call it home. I guess it looks like I might be one of those people but I just wasn't able to call this place home yet. The place was beautiful but it wasn't home.
"Don't worry most everyone in similar positions fills that way at first." Said Ms. Henning smiling at me, I smiled back so I didn't seem rude.
I really wish she would stop reading my mind. Ms. Hennings chuckled letting me know she could still here my thoughts.
"This is the main hall," Ms. Hennings said. "The cafeteria is down the hall on the right and is straight ahead from there" she said pointing to the hall on the right side of us
Ms. Hennings Started walking in the hall directly in front of us. She was walking so fast I almost had to jog to keep up with her. "Most of your class will be held on this floor," said Ms. Hennings "We would usually put you in lower classes but with your GPA we decided to put you in higher classes to see if you could handle it."
Great she looked up my school records. Now she knows I'm the lamest teen ever. Yah sure I got straight A's my whole life but that's it, I haven't done anything else. I didn't get any special awards nor did I ever get in trouble. This also felt like an invasion of my privacy, I know any school would have done the same but my school life basically is my life it's all I've ever done. I'm also the type of person to just keep to myself and that means keeping all my victories and failures to myself . Don't get me wrong I am proud of my records and I'm going try to get good grades here to. I just don't want anyone to know how I supposedly was at South Creek high. Nobody here new me and I wanted to start off with a clean slate if I can and if people at Serenity looked at me the same way they did at South Creek then so be it but it would be because of the decisions I made not some stupid rumors. I'd rather they figure out who I am. Jean was the only person at South Creek to really see me and know me for who I am and not just as a school nerd but as an actual person with the capability to be anything and anyone I wanted.
That's one of the many reasons why I love Jean. I loved her like I would love a sister if I had one and I still do. Thinking about Jean really hurt. Wow, I really miss her.
As we walked most people just minded their own business. From the looks of it Serenity Boarding School gets new students often. Their were a group of students huddled together talking, they looked at us as we walked by but one boy in the group caught my attention more then one else did, he had dark brown hair almost black and dark brown eyes. To say he was attractive would be an understatement he was the best looking boy I've ever seen in my life. He gave me an intense stare and it made my heart beat faster for some stupid reason. I tried to ignore him as we walked passed but fate hasn't been on my side lately so that didn't work.
"Hey Mother Hen, who's the new bird" another boy in the group called to Ms. Hennings, he had blond hair and he also looked like he was my age.
We stopped and walked over to the group of students. Ms. Hennings smiled and answered him "this is Ms. Alexis Harrison. Alexis, this is Mr. Aaron Wells," she said pointing at the blond haired boy.
"Sup"Aaron replied nodding his head and doing a peace sign with his fingers. I smiled and waved back. Aaron was also good looking but not as good looking as the boy standing behind him.
"So what is she," asked another boy standing next to Aaron, this one had brown hair but not as dark and soft as- ugh... Alexis, focus.
Ms. Hennings looked at me 'I don't have to tell them your abilities if you don't want me to sweetie but, they will find out eventually' She said in my mind. 'It's ok I'll tell them,' I told her.
"I can heal myself and I'm a brainiac," I said.
The group looked little surprised. A girl in the back spoke up " We don't usually have people with two abilities" she said " but being a self healer and a brainiac isn't uncommon because they both come from the brain." The look I gave the girl told her I didn't understand, why wouldn't they also be called a brainiac. She continued to explain "The difference is that a healers ability is also in their blood but it doesn't work unless the blood is still in the person's body." I nodded my head to let her know I understood what she was talking about.
"This is Ms. Lilly Woods, she's a Tellus " said Ms. Hennings pointing to the girl who just spoke. 'What does that mean' I asked Ms. Hennings in my head but Lilly answered first "it's the Latin word for earth, it just means I can control something from nature or something specifically on the earth, in this case plants." My mouth literally dropped open, that's amazing. I wonder what other kinds of people there are here. I closed my mouth and nodded my head in response
"I am Mr. Nolan Greaks and I am a wizard," the brown haired boy standing next to Aaron said in a fake English accent which he didn't need to because he already had an English accent. Lilly chuckled and Aaron rolled his eyes.
"Hi" is all I said.
" I'm a werewolf," Aaron said.
I nodded to Aaron again. I know on the outside I looked like I didn't care because I still felt numb from what happened last night. but on the inside I was absolutely shocked, after all it was like being told that everything I new about anything was wrong.
" That's Mr. Lucas Dain and Ms. Victoria Crostling," Ms. Hennings said pointing to the people behind Lilly, Aaron, and Nolan. Oh, so that's his name.
Victoria gave me a small smile and waved. Lucas also waved but he didn't smile, he just stared at me in fact that's all he's done since I've seen him.
"Hi" I said to Lucas and Victoria. Victoria's smile widened but Lucas continued to stare at me and it was making me even more uncomfortable than I already was.
" Mr. Dain is a Vampire and Ms. Crostling is a Tellus like Ms. Woods only she controls water," Stated Ms. Hennings. " Well, we need to move on if we want to finish in time, you kids better start heading to class, the bell's going to ring any minute" Ms. Hennings said giving them a stern look.
" Yes Mother Hen" they all said in unison.
As we walked away I could still fill Lucas's stares burning a hole in the back of my head till we rounded the corner to the next hall.
I hope you guys are enjoying the book.
I don't have a cast list for the characters and I don't plan on making one right now. If you guys want to you can make one and put it in the comments just to give me ideas, incase I ever do make one or you can make one for fun.
