The rest of the week was a blur it was already Friday again. Right now I'm in calculus in Mrs. Lee's class and the bell signaling that school is over was going to ring in 5min. I already had my stuff packed up and was ready to leave the building like it was on fire and that's how it's been at the end of every day since Collin Higgs asked me to that stupid party that was supposed to be today. This kid seriously could not take No for an answer he asked me every chance he got, at lunch, in between classes, and of course after school was over. When I told Jean about Collin asking me to a party all she said was "I'm not surprised he's had a crush on you for a while now "

"How do you know that? " I asked,

"It's pretty obvious, I mean in our science class he stares at you the whole time" Jean said "the only reason he started picking on you then challenged you to that dodgeball game last Friday was because when he won he was going to make a bet  and if he won you would have to go out go with him and if he lost then he would never bother you again"

"How did he know I would even agree to play again, what if I said no?" I asked.

Jean gave me an amused look. Come on Lexi, everyone knows how competitive you are," she said "and with the whole class watching you'd be too embarrassed to say no"

"How do you know all this?" I asked surprised that she new so much on the matter.

Jean looked at me surprised and said, " him and his friends were talking about it two days before in science. When he challenged you to play against him I thought you'd tell him no but when you didn't and won then I didn't think any more of it .... sorry, I thought you knew".

"About the crush or the bet," I said.

"The bet," said Jean.

"How come you didn't tell me about him having a crush on me?" I asked annoyed.

"Alexis Rose Harrison if I told you about every boy that has or had a crush on you" Jean paused with an amused smirk on her face "you'd be too embarrassed to go to school and you'd never pass your classes, beside what would I do what would if you weren't here"

I was touched because she was watching out for me like she always does so I gave her a hug. She was like the sister I never had.

"thank you," I said letting go of her.

With a curious look she asked "for what"

"for always watching out for me,"

"that's what friends are for and besides you do more for me then I do for you, it's the least I could do, I mean who helps me pass all my classes."

That's how our conversation went. Now I was sitting in the last class for the day, it's 3:24p.m. and there's still one minute till the bell would ring signaling that school was over

"come on" I whispered anxiously. Forty seconds left I looked away from the clock so it would go faster, I looked around the class, at the walls, at the math posters, at students, at the desks, at the teacher, at my nails, and back at the clock and I could've sworn that the clock was broken only five seconds had passed since I looked away. I guess that didn't work so I continued to stare at the clock twenty seconds left I pick up my stuff and got to the edge of my seat ten seconds left. Those last ten seconds felt like five minutes.

Ding...ding...ding...ding

Finally the bell rang and I was out of there before anyone else. I didn't need to stop at my locker because before last period I made sure I had everything so I wouldn't get held up. I texted Jean five minutes before class ended that I would wait for her outside. It was a lot easer to hide from Collin out there.
