We've been walking around this school for a while until we finally stopped at another set of cherry wood double doors. As we entered the room I couldn't help but look around. The room was probably as big as a small apartment someone could literally live in here and be perfectly comfortable. I'm guessing this was Ms. Henning's office because of the huge mahogany desk at the far end of the room. There was a TV on the right hand side, and a couch set just a couple feet in front of the desk. Bookshelves lined the walls. There were two other doors one next to the desk on the right and one on the left and I could tell this office was bigger than I was seeing now. There were a lot of pictures on the walls, shelves, and desk. I noticed some of them were in black and white, and from what I could tell she looked exactly the same in all the ones she was in.

Just how old was this lady?

" Old " I heard Ms. Hennings say inside my head.

I forgot she could read my mind, I'd have to make a mental note of that so I could watch what I think around her.

I settled myself in the middle of the room while Ms. Hennings walked over to her desk, took a piece of paper off and turned back and walked back over to me.

"This is your schedule for now, we'll be keeping an eye on you to make sure your in the right classes " said Ms. Hennings holding out my schedule.

I nodded back in reply as I took it from Ms. Hennings. I looked at the paper and I saw that I had six classes a day total. Some of them were just normal classes any high-schooled kid would have and some were classes I've never even heard of classes like Mind Specialties and Jumpstart. I had no idea what to think of my new weird class so I just looked at Ms. Hennings letting her know to continue. She started walking back to the door taking big strides. I had to jog to catch up to her, she must be really busy to be in this much of a hurry to finish. We started to walk back the way we came but stopped at the staircase we passed on the way to Ms. Hennings office. We took a couple flights of stairs and finally stopped at a floor. There are a lot of stairs in this school, I think I'm going to have to get used to this. There was a long hallway to the left and to the right with doors with numbers on both sides of the walls and I noticed that everyone on this floor were girls. We took the hall on the right and we walked till we stopped at a door with the number 107 on the front.

" This is your room " Ms. Hennings said pointing to the room 107.

She took out a key and unlocked the door. She opened it and walked inside with me following after her. I noticed the light turned on when we walked in, they must be motion sensored. As I looked around I noticed there were two of everything beds, chairs, lamps etc... half of the room was already taken so it looks like I would be sharing this room with someone else. The walls were a cream color with fake plants around the room. The room was nice in fact it was nicer than the one I had at home but I would give anything to go back there with my mom again. I felt a hand on my shoulder, I looked to my left and I saw Ms. Hennings smiling at my sympathetic. I knew she was still reading my mind. I hate how she keeps doing that.

I moved and she put her hand down so she continues. " You'll be sharing this room with a lovely young lady named Penny."

I can see my roommate already decorated the room somewhat there were posters up on the wall. Some of the people in the posters I recognized and some I didn't.

" What is she? " I asked so I could kind of get an idea of who she is

" For people that are different like us what they are is very personal so I'll let her tell you." Ms. Hennings said.

Oh right, that makes sense I didn't mean to be nosy.

" We couldn't take anything from your house" She said with a little bit of guilt in evident in her voice.

Oh yeah, the police are probably searching my home as we speak so it makes sense that they couldn't get anything. It would also be very suspicious if all my stuff were suddenly gone. Great so I don't have anything.

" But " she continued, " We did get the chance to buy you everything you would need clothes, books, school supplies, etc... So you don't have to worry."

I look at the other half of the room not occupied and noticed a laptop and backpack on the desk next to it was a stack of pictures. I walked over and picked one up and I noticed they were scanned copies of the one I had back at home. Tears started to fill my eyes. No I couldn't cry yet when I was all alone then I would allow myself mourn my family. To distract myself I look around my half of the room and I could tell she really did try hard to make me feel right at home. I was touched.

I turned around a faced Ms. Hennings and I gave her my first real smiling since the accident it was small but it was real.

" Thank You "

" You're welcome, " She said smiling back.

She looked at her watch and back at me "I need to go now, if you need anything don't hesitate to ask. Lunch is in an hour."

With that she handed me the key to my room and walked out. I let out a deep breath I didn't know I was holding. Finally I was alone. I looked around the room. It really was nice but it just wasn't home. Home wasn't nearly this expensive; home was a small two-story house with two bedrooms. Home was mom, where she would help me with my homework and tell me everything was okay when my day didn't go very well. Home was Jean and Catherine, where we hung out almost every week. Home was where my heart was. But this... this wasn't home. I could feel tears streaming down my face but I didn't care anymore I was alone now literally in every way. Now, I would let myself mourn my losses. I would let myself feel the anguish of not only losing my father but my mother, friends and everyone I know. I went over to the bed and laid down curling up into a ball and I broke down.
