The gentle mood around the two become solemn as Izumi drifted to her own thoughts leaving the younger to stare at her direction unsure of what she should do or say, to at least help and comfort her mother's current student.
Ayane, despite being 11, knows how human emotions function, how it affect someone's choices and thoughts. She knows that the older is indeed in a mental struggle, but what could she do? Nonetheless of what she can understand, she's still an 11 year old. Yes, Ayane do comprehend but it doesn't mean she can sympathize with them.
She doesn't know how it feel, how people's emotions made them sad, cry, hurt or even at the extent of wanting to kill themselves. Her mom makes sure to fill her with everything she can give, with every love and happiness she can deliver.
Ayane knows how being in despair affects people, how they look at the world in monotone, how everything breaks them and how they want to give up.
But she doesn't know how it feel...
Ayane wants to sympathize with people.
So that she can fully grasp why her father have to leave... Or how despite all of that, her mother remained strong...
She wanted to understand how they feel and what strives them to do that, what strives them to put on a mask even if their hearts says otherwise...
Like how her mom smiled at her warmly when she was 5, even if her heart was crying and broken by her father's sudden disappearance.
And like how Izumi's exterior remained calm despite all the tremors in her heart.
Ayane's Quirk, letting her hear what people's heart is saying, she wanted to know how she can respond to that.
As Raven have something urgent to do, training has been cut off for the day. She left hastily with departing words of being back in the afternoon, of course not leaving without a chaste kiss to her daughter.
Izumi was left with the company of Ayane. It wasn't bad, the kid after all was well behaved.
Few conversations were exchanged between them, like how Izumi casually pointed out how young Kido looked. She can't help but ask the kid how old is her mother.
Ayane curled her lip upwards voicing that her mom is 34 years old.
Ayane did asked questions to her as well. She wanted to know if Izumi had a brother, which she answered with a curt nod. The slight throb in Izumi's chest didn't go unnoticed to the young girl though. Ayane unsure how to tackle the issue, left no other choice but to bit her lip in a nervous way.
Izumi, having all the hours to spend with the young girl can't help but notice how mature the kid is for her age. Izumi has her suspicion that it's because of her mom, you know Raven being strict and all, but she thought otherwise as she pondered Ayane's question earlier that day.
Her Quirk helped her to mature...
She mentioned people's hearts and how it always says the truth. That must be the reason Ayane asked how she truly feel.
Izumi eyed the younger who is silently reading a thick book. Izumi didn't notice how her expression turned solemn at the thought that this kid might be exposed to a hundred human emotions and mental struggles.
Trauma, Anxiety, Despair, Depression...
And a lot more.
Ayane was introduced to reality at such a young age.
Izumi didn't know what to feel about that as a name flashed to her.
She shook her head standing from her sitting position abruptly, causing the younger one to startle. As she was about take a step, a hand gripped her wrist. She peered down at the girl meeting her eyes in the process.
