Chapter 35

"Wow, you really don't trust me." Izumi blandly stated. Her back leaning against the absolutely uncomfortable chair, hands still tied down. Eyes looking down at the restraint with hatred.

"....." Shigaraki didn't answer, he walk in the room, sitting at the corner looking as edgy as ever.

"Is this about the Usj incident?" Izumi continued to press. She won't leave this guy alone, annoying him is something she oddly liked the longer she stayed with the league. "That's understandable. I did look angry at you there." the image where she yelled like a barbarian flashes back to her mind. Her face scrunching in an exaggerated way that makes her cringe.

"Aaah, stop talking shit. Tell me what you're scheming, or I'll let you know what real pain feels like." and here's Shigaraki, on his period like always. Swear. He's like a young mistress who didn't get what he wants.

"woah, calm down hime-sama."

Here's the cold glare, like what Izumi expected to be his reaction.

"what happened back then, I'm sorry. I didn't know the full story." Izumi declared in calm seriousness, eyes not quite looking straight at the addressed person. She never did like apologizing to people, but in order to gain their trust, she must lower her standards for now. "I thought you ordered to kill Mary, well you did, but you're not the one responsible for her death."

"I didn't know you blame her all this time for Seto's death..."

That statement made him pause. He actually look a bit surprised which something Izumi didn't quite expect. She knew what she's going at but not this extent.

"That's right, I knew now that you're a close confidant of Seto... You met on the field when you were 12 years old."

A young Shigaraki met the saint like man in the middle of the field. Shigaraki was weak enough to not use his quirk against Seto back then.

Somehow, the odd guy got the princess's trust and continued to see each other.

Izumi while searching for information about Mary and the real culprits few months ago happened to stumble upon the issue and it surprised her truly.

"So what. It already happened." Despite what he said, Izumi being perceptive happened to read between the lines. She bit her lip, feeling disgusted. It's ironic how people can feel every possible emotion and feel absolutely nothing equally in different circumstances.

"Haha, it's quite funny." Izumi coldy muttered, "You actually let another person in your life."

"and I think you thought it was your biggest mistake." she smiled, sickeningly sweet.

"Shut the fuck up. You make me sick." He said, walking away and leaving her alone like she wanted. His back slowly disappearing from her view. It oddly looked dejected. She didn't know if her feelings is just making tricks. He's a murderer, and nothing would change that, not even apologies.

"Well, if he's that affected. He must liked Seto enough have that reaction."

He's still human after all.

"Bakugo-san?!" Momo glared at him. Eyes staring confused.

"That fcking idiot." Bakugo bleated with spite "I never told her to save me, but now look! Haha, it serves her right! Just leave her there alone to rot!"

At Bakugo's words, something clicked inside Izuku's mind. The image of his twin, alone in a dangerous place, probably hurt, exploded in his mind like an unwanted headache. Agonized at his childhood acquaintance's words, it didn't suit right with Izuku and felt his temper boil.

"What the hell is your problem?"

"huuuhh? You're talking back to me now Deku?" It was the first time Izuku dared to talk back like that. Bakugo felt his hatred grew two meters high at the Midoriya siblings.

"hahahaha. Why are you all so desperate to save her?" Bitter, that's it, he's bitter. Flashbacks of their interactions in the past coming back to him. Until today, that fucking bitch still dare to look away from him! He's the strongest! He can take anyone down! Bubbling anger, that's always what he feels. He doesn't even know why he wants her to acknowledge him. "you'll just be a nuisance to her if you did." nevertheless, he's the only one who saw beyond her cold mask. He knows just how tainted she is.

"Huh? Bakugo?" Kirishima, confused at his friend's tone, questioned the blonde.

"That fucking bitch is determined to push me away. I fucking saw her look!" Bakugo inhaled, "How dare she underestimate me?! Let her die there for all I care!"

Izuku's neck snapped to Bakugo, clear anger can be seen on his face. His eyebrows meeting in one direction, breathing hard like he's using all his self control not to bash Bakugo's head right at the moment. "Die? Are you seriously saying that in front of me? His brother?"

Hearing how Izuku raised his voice to Bakugo. The blonde couldn't take the humiliation he felt and rushed forward

"Stop it both of you!" Iida come in between before both reached each others lane

Todoroki blankly looked at the side, staying silent. That look... She was saying, delivering something... Something that hit close to home.

.... He knew she was trying to say goodbye....

And she knows what they'll try to do.

Izumi tried to stop that from happening...

He wants to respect that wish

Maybe it'll calm the storm he's feeling...

"Bakugo, Midoriya and all of you. None of us will go after her."

He made a small gesture to make Izuku and Momo stop protesting.

"She wanted us to stay here." green determined eyes met the cold blue and gray ones, "and you know that more than us combined. Midoriya... It's her wish."

"Let's trust her." at Todoroki's final words. Izuku grew limp and his whole body stump to the ground. Tears slowly falling from his eyes.

The growing fear continued to expand. But Todoroki is right. Izumi wanted him, them to stay safe.

She threw herself in to make sure none of them suffers

And knowing her

She won't let them do anything to her.

Trust

Yes.

He can do that.

He hopes believing that she's safe can make the suffocating feeling go...

Because Izuku don't know why, but he feels like she's going to go away from him, from all of them.

Like an inevitable death.
