"Thanks for the buzz." Facimus huffed.

"Welcome." The angel chimed with a smirk plastered on his face. "Abigail, are you hungry?"

"Yes, thank you."

"I'll do some food. I'm afraid that I don't have meat as I'm vegan. Is that okay?"

She nodded and Astreal made his way to the kitchen to prepare something, peering into the fridge to see what he had been given this week.

As he begun to fish out some rice and various produce, he noticed Facimus looking his way and blocked it with his back to try and forget about it. It didn't work as he could still feel his eyes moving over his back, probably trying to figure out how his wings hid in it.

Astreal didn't know himself and had too wondered how it worked. They just seemed to merge into his body and come back out when he wanted. No trace of the process left behind.

He huffed when the feeling wouldn't leave, put the rice on to cook, and began to cut up a carrot.

"Can you please explain what I am?" Abigail spoke calmly, but you could just hear the wobble in her voice.

"You'll want to ask Facimus. I don't know very much about it, but I'm planning to find out so don't worry too much."

He added the veg and tipped in a few herbs and pepper while he listened.

"We'll I assume you have heard of shapeshifters as a kid. People who can change their form to fit another species. Examples of well-known shifters are werewolves, vampires, selkies, etc. They are pretty common in today's world and most cities have a few of each. Morphers though, they are said to be extinct or never have been real in the first place. A legend amount legends. They are said to be legends as their power is prophesied to be very strong. Stronger than most of the higher up species and so on.

"They are also said to not be real as they have a very large area of what they can do and that scares people. You can take any form that you want and can get anywhere. Take the form of any person and do anything. You can do everything.

"Now obviously, most of this is stuff that has accumulated over the years and nothing can be said true for certain, but from what I've seen happen and the feel of your aura, I'd say that most of it is pretty accurate."

Astreal by now had turned to watch the explanation and was resting on the side.

"So...I'm basically a legend and extremely powerful?"

Facimus frowned, noticing and a slight curl of the lips on Abigail. "You are powerful in a way but the main power you have is only useful to others through your blood. Don't go doing anything in front of anyone. If the wrong people found out, they would try and kill you to take your power. It is extremely important that you don't tell anyone about your Morph side. Do you understand?"

The slight smile had washed off and now left a scared and shocked face.

"Of course," Astreal cut in, glancing you Facimus with a glare that hid a question, "we'll protect you if worst comes to worse. Just don't tell anyone so that we have to fight."

Abigail nodded and shifted in her seat, feeling anxious about the situation now. "Do I get any other powers?"

"Not that I am aware of."

"Oh...okay."

Astreal mumbled under his breath, annoyed by her unhappy tone. "You know, some people don't want this stuff. You'd think someone would be a bit more appreciative of what they have."

He heard Facimus curse and turned to see Maggie pecking at his face. She was still angry at him for putting her in the box the first time they met.

"Maggie. Stop it, now."

She listened to Astreal hesitantly and came to rest on the side next to him. "Scooch. I'm making food."

Astreal served up the meal to plates and brought one to Abigail and without making eye contact, handed the other to Facimus. "Oh, thank you."

"Don't worry about it." He said quietly and sat cross-legged on the sofa, facing towards where Abigail and Facimus were sat at the table.

He watched as Maggie noticed Abigail and she seemed to glare at the girl. She flew over and landed on the table beside her, acting wary around her and keeping her eyes pinned to the morpher.

What is up with her?

Maggie stepped forward and pecked at her hand, causing Abigail to reach back and cup her hand. She changed into a cat in an act to scare the bird but only got a hard peck on the nose. She reverted and held her nose, a few tears resting on the rim of her bottom eyelids.

"Ow...What was that for?"

"For god's sake, Mags. Stop abusing everyone and come here."

Time passed with large amounts of questions from both Abigail and Astreal, getting answers from the knowledgeable demon. Only a few times here the questions that he didn't have an answer at all or a conspiracy that he had heard of before. The mood soon shifted to a more relaxed and chatty environment after all parties were happy with the amount of information that had been shared.

"I'm really tired." Abigail said after a yawn that she had attempted to hide. "Would it be okay for me to head to bed? I know it's quite early but I'm knackered from shifting. I think it takes more out of me than I thought."

"Yeah, of course. Last door on the right."

"Thanks, you know, for letting me stay here and saying you'll look out for me."

"It's fine." Astreal let a comforting smile drift to his lips.

"We 'supernaturals' need to look out for each other." Facimus chimed in and gently laid his hand on Abigail's arm, still sat on the chair. He mock whispered to her and covered his mouth from Astreal's view. "If you ever get tired of him, my place is always open. And it's a lot bigger than this."

"Thanks." She replied in the same manner and went to head to her allocated room.

"Abigail, just a quick thing. The bathroom is first on the right. Oh, and don't go into the room opposite yours. It's strictly off bounds."

Facimus snickered. "Ooo, Mr.Mysterious. It's just his bedroom."

Abigail joined the snicker before disappearing down the hallway.

An awkward silence filled the room as Facimus and Astreal sat without saying anything. It stayed like that for a few minutes and all they could hear was the sound of Abigail moving into the bathroom, no doubt to clean herself after a few days without a clean place to stay.

"I'm, uh, going out, so you have to leave." Astreal stood up from the sofa and walked to the kitchen, picking up the plates on the way and placing them next to the sink to wash later.

"Well, I don't have to, do I?" Facimus grinned as he turned his head to follow Astreal's movements.

"Actually, you do. Seems you've forgotten about the little barrier." He returned the grin and went to grab his bag, from which he fished out a pen and a page from his sketchbook. "But to be honest, I need to leave like, right now, so I can't argue with you. Just leave when you've done snooping, as I'm sure you won't fail to do."

Astreal scribbled down a note for Abigail. "Just nipping out to do something. Be back soon. Don't go near any windows or go outside."

Without looking to see if Facimus had left, he walked down the hallway and opened the door to the spare room. Clothes were strewn across the floor and the bed, making it appear as if there had been someone living there for months, not minutes. He caught sight of a small pink bra and instantly felt his cheeks heat. Eyes focused on his destination, he moved to the bedside table and placed the note down where Abigail would certainly see it. He turned and left without giving himself the chance to accidentally invade more of the girls privacy.

As he walked back into the main room, he heard Facimus laugh. "See something of interest to you?"

Astreal grabbed his bag and made his way to the balcony. Before disappearing he spoke quietly "Bye. Don't follow me."
