It was finally Friday. I think if you took a poll across the states and asked every kid what their favorite day of the week is (not including Saturday or Sunday), they would all say Friday.
I got my car last night and Charlie and I were able to drive it school this morning. I had never driven a car with a manual transmission before I got mine, so I did a lot of practice with it last night. I only killed it about three times on my way to school this morning.
It was late winter and was still chilly outside as we made it to the school. Ashley happened to be sitting in her Jeep just a few spots away from me, focused on her phone. I got out of the car and sneaked around the backside of hers until I was just below her window.
"BOO!" I yelled as I simultaneously smacked her window.
"HOLY RAVIOLI BATMAN," she yelled as she dropped her phone.
"Was that a legit Batman quote dude?" I asked, still laughing at her reaction.
"Thanks for noticing," She said dramatically. "I have all 359 of Robin's interjections memorized," She said proudly.
"You are such a goof!" As Charlie got out of our car, I realized she had not met any of my friends yet. I don't think I had even told them that I had a little sister. "Hey Charlie," I yelled at her. "Come meet Ashley."
"Oh? Who's this Bri?" Ashley questioned.
"I'm Bri's little sister, Charlie," She introduced herself. She was always way more outgoing than I was. As we walked towards the school together, Ash and Charlie kept talking. Both were natural chatterboxes, a skill I never had. Eventually, Charlie departed to her own locker and friends, while Ash and I continued to ours.
"You never mentioned a sister Bri," Ashley commented. "Got any super hot brothers I need to know about?" I think she was almost serious about that one.
"Unfortunately for you, no I do not. But nah, Charlie is a good kid. She has had it a little rough moving here and leaving her friends, but she'll get by." I dropped my voice lower, "I especially think that because she keeps babbling on about an Oliver Webber. Do you want to tell me if he's good or bad?"
"Oliver Webber?" She exclaimed. "Like Oliver Webber star of the basketball team Oliver Webber?"
"I'm assuming there's only one. Anyways, whats the scoop?" I asked again as we reached our lockers.
"From what I heard, he hasn't really been on the dating scene at all. He legit goes to school, works out, and goes to practice. Then he does his homework like a good little boy and goes to bed." I guess that doesn't sound terrible in a guy. I would be okay with Charlie hanging out with a guy that is simply good-natured.
We headed to class and went throughout the day, eager to get home and moving towards the weekend.

Later at lunch, Quinn asked if I was going to the basketball game.
"I'm not sure," I said. "I was thinking about just getting dinner and a movie with my mom. It's kinda been a rough week for her. I was hoping my sister Charlie would join us."
"Oh come on Bri!" Ash exclaimed. "You know Charlie won't be there because she wants to watch her man play some ball!"
I knew she was right.
"Oh my goodness!" Spencer was getting in on the drama now. "So it is true? Your little freshman sister got the Oliver Webber to look away from the basketball court or the gym for more than five minutes?" I nodded at her question. "Okay... TELL ME HER SECRETS. HOW DID SHE DO IT?" The whole table laughed at her enthusiasm on the subject. That is, everyone except her boyfriend, Derek. Although I honestly think the guy is incapable of laughing or smiling in general anyways. He was the kind of guy that had a perpetual frown on his face unless he was staring at his girlfriends' ass.
