I didn't get to see Camren the rest of the weekend. My arms were healing fine so I didn't have an urgent need to invite her over, and I couldn't think of a decent excuse for mom to let her come over while we were so busy. Mom, Charlie and I finished getting everything unpacked for the rest of the house. The only unfinished room was the guest room, and that was only because we needed to go purchase things for that.

I woke up this morning, absolutely dreading the school day. Today, I would need to talk to Ash and Spencer, and just try to ignore Quinn as much as possible.

Charlie knew I would be dreading this, so she chatted away about anything and everything this morning, making sure I wouldn't have time to sit there and just think... or dread the rest of the day.

We pulled into the parking lot just as Camren was getting out of her car. She came over and started talking with Charlie as we made our way up to the school. We walked past Quinn, standing in a group with his jock friends, and I started to freak out a little, looking anywhere that was not his direction. From the corner of my eye, I saw some of them start laughing as we walked by. Camren gently hooked her arm through mine and dragged me toward the front doors, away from the offending boys.

We walked all the way to my locker, where Ash was waiting. Camren looked at Ash and the expression of concern on her face and knew that I would be okay for the rest of the morning.

"I'll see you at Lunch Bri!" Camren left me with my friend as she headed to her own locker.

"So... are you okay?" Ashley wasn't sure if I would be mad at her. She had just stood there while the jocks kept making fun of me. I knew she wasn't a bold, outgoing type of person, so I didn't blame her for it. Besides, my arms were well enough that I didn't have to wear a bandage anymore and only wore long sleeves to hide the fact that I had been hurt. And it was still cold outside.

"Yeah, Ash. I'm good. And we're good too. It was just some stupid boys." I smiled at her. When she saw that I truly wasn't mad, she immediately perked up and went back into her normal Chatty Kathy mode. It was nice to be around her again after the long weekend. I had realized that she was a good friend. Even though my weekend had sucked, it had nothing to do with Ashley.

We went through World-Lit ignoring Quinn. Even Spencer ignored him, which I was thankful for considering I didn't know her very well yet. He actually came into the class halfway through, sporting a fresh bruise on his cheekbone. That was strange since I definitely knew that he was on time to school.

When lunch came around, everyone sat together (Including Camren) and made sure that Quinn was a whole table down, on the other side of his jock friends. When I surveyed the jocks, I realized that one other person was sporting a battle wound. Trevor; with a black eye and a fucked up, busted lip. Must have hurt like a bitch. Oh well.

I leaned in close to the other girls. "What happened to Trevor?" I kept my voice quiet, not wanting all the guys to hear.

"Oh, Quinn got into a fight with him this morning. It's why he was late to World-Lit." Spencer said nonchalantly. "I heard Quinn wouldn't stop trying to punch him even after the guys were dragging him off."

I think after hearing that, I could forgive Quinn. But I wasn't going to let him know that for at least another day or two.

Camren and Spencer were actually pretty good friends already. Spencer had been on the cheerleading squad up until just before she started dating Derek. Ashley and Camren even got a little bit of nerd superhero talk during lunch. It was really nice to have a big group of friends that all got along. I had never really had that before now. I just had Molly and Tatiana at home.

Camren and I had our last two classes together; organic chem and home ec. Organic chem had assigned seats, and I was halfway across the room from Camren, but in home ec, you could work with whoever you wanted.
