All four of us walked back in silence. It didn't feel right to speak, instead we remained quiet and sent out our thoughts to Sarah. At least, I did. It was much colder than the last time. I could feel a small layer of ice coat the inside of my nose and my chest ached as I breathed in the cold air.

I had stared at the house long before we left. I realized it was a turning point, for all of us. We buried Sarah by the water the evening before. Lucifer didn't stay very long after but I stayed by her side, whispering to her even if I knew she wouldn't reply.

I got in contact with my Dad from the landline. He mostly shouted at me, but I could hear the worry in his voice. I made the excuse that I had gone to Sarah's and had forgotten to mention it to him. And then I realized I could no longer use that excuse anymore.

"It seems longer going back," Jonathan muttered.

"That's because we have nothing to look forward too," I replied and he stayed quiet. He stayed true to his word when he said we wouldn't speak of it again. It's like it had never happened, but it did. And I would always be grateful for it. I owed him my life.

I brought my coat over my nose and mouth, breathing in warm air for a change. I balled my fists in my thin gloves, trying to prevent my digits from freezing. Lucifer was ahead, walking faster than all of us. He huffed every few minutes, just as eager as us to finally get home.

"What a waste of time," he said out loud.

"This wasn't a waste of time," I argued.

"No? It served us nothing to come here. Sarah's dead and I brought the warlock species closer to extinction."

"We didn't know that would happen Lucifer. I'll never regret this because I'll know we tried."

"And look at the good that did us."

"Stop being so ungrateful about everything!" I shouted, stopping in my tracks. He turned around and began walking towards me.

"I have nothing to be grateful for."

"You have me!" I shouted and he watched me wide eyed, wondering what he would say next. "Or is that not enough for you?"

"Don't start this, Olivia. It'll lead you nowhere," he was about to turn around and start walking again but I said something I never thought I'd utter.

"I'm in love with you," I said, loud and clear for everyone to hear. He paused, his back tensing as he ignored my gaze. "I'm not ashamed to say it."

"Don't say that," he muttered.

"Why not?" I pressed the conversation further, approaching him.

"Because you don't mean it." Jonathan and Nathan stayed completely silent but to me, it was as if they weren't even there.

"I mean every bit of it."

"You don't get it Olivia. I can't know if you mean it. You're tied to the prophecy, and the prophecy states that we are to fall in love. But without it, what's left?"

"Us. We're left. You said it yourself that you didn't believe in the old thing, so why are you using it against me now?" He looked to Nathan, finally acknowledging his presence. He didn't say a word though, he only stared him down.

"I can't do this, Olivia," he looked down at his feet. I bit my lip, feeling tears gather around the rim of my eye.

"What are you saying?" a tear slid down my cheek.

"I'm saying that I'm leaving. When we get home, you'll never see me again. I'm setting you free." I weeped, covering my mouth.

"You can't do this to me Lucifer! Not now," I shouted at him, pounding my fists in his chest. He let me release my anger, not even flinching as I hit him as hard as I could. "You monster!"
