Gillian
"Hey Nick," shouted Sebastian as we walked into an old apartment. Apparently, knocking didn't apply when you had control to open the door.
"Oh, hey Sebastian! Long-time no see buddy!" Exclaimed a spiky brown haired boy sticking his head out from behind a wall. He walked out holding a pair of
worn out white working gloves in his callused hands. He gave Sebastian one of those guy hugs; handshake-pull-into-a-hug kinda thing. Sebastian clapped Nick's back and smiled.
"You got that right, buddy!" he said back. Nick took a step back and his gaze fell over me. Trailing his eyes down my body, he glanced back up, meeting my eyes. He whistled.
"And who's this foxy lady, eh?" he asked, jabbing an elbow into Sebastian. He rolled his eyes.
"Gillian Lockhart," he introduced in a very bored and flat tone. Nick raised an eyebrow.
"A Lockhart, huh? Hear you are the top of the Talented four at Skill Institute. May I introduce myself, Nick Belen, master of disguise and charming the ladies," he said as he took my hand and grazed his lips across my skin, his eyes never leaving mine. I resisted the urge to roll my eyes and Sebastian glared at Nick.
"Okay, Nick, I think we've heard enough. Time to get down to business." Said Sebastian as he plopped down on the old, black leather couch. I sat myself on the arm of the armchair and wrapped my coat tighter around my body. Need I remind you I was still wearing those 'shorts' and see-through shirt. Nick fell back on the couch beside Sebastian and leaned down to prop his elbows on his knees.
"All right, now what do you need?" he asked in a serious tone. I stared at him, wondering how God could create such a clueless person.
"Well, like you said before, you are the 'master of disguise' so what do you think we're here for?" I asked him, unbelievably. Sebastian smirked at me and Nick blinked.
"Right, okay," he said, getting up off the couch. I hesitantly got up, eyeing Sebastian to do the same.
"Follow me," Nick said, not even bothering to look back to see if we were doing so. He led us into the kitchen which conceived of a counter, stove, microwave, and a fridge. I looked at Sebastian and raised an eyebrow, but he just shrugged. Nick told Sebastian to move the fridge to the left and after a curious look, Sebastian obeyed.
Behind the fridge was a metal door that was rusted from old age. Nick pounded on the door and it popped open and he turned around and smiled.
"Viola! Welcome to disguise paradise!" he said in a horribly mimicked French accent. I rolled my eyes at the same time as Sebastian. Behind the door was a huge ware house that looked like a second hand shop. Racks of cloths stuffed the room and tables of wigs, contacts, fake moustaches, anything disguise related.
My jaw dropped in shock. Sebastian too, seemed impressed ad both his eyebrows were raised as we gazed across the room. On one side of the room, were dressing rooms and a big, beige couch in front of them. Nick plopped down on the couch and placed his left ankle on his right knee.
"Well? What are you waiting for?" he stared at us expectantly. "Go try on some disguises!"
I giddily walked through racks of disguises, my hands trailing across the different fabrics of clothing hanging off the hangers. Randomly I picked out a few outfits, wigs and contacts and made my way to the dressing rooms. Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Sebastian doing the same thing. I glanced over at Nick who was slouched over in the couch engrossed in a car magazine.
The first disguise I tried on was police disguise. My outfit considered of a knee-length dark blue pencil skirt and a typical police top, complete with badges and all. I buckled on my waist belt and put the fake gun in its holder. Then, I put on a brown wig and tied it up in a bun at the back, and slid on the police hat. Last, but not least, I slipped in some brown contacts and added red lipstick for the sheer fun of it. I smiled as I gave myself a once over in the mirror. Tucking my talent necklace under my shirt, I slipped on my black shoes and walked out.
"Woah, Gillian! I mean Madam Lockhart!" teased Nick as soon as I stepped out of the dressing room. I smiled. Then, a question popped up in my mind.
"Nick, this disguise is so unrealistic because how am I supposed to 'catch thieves' in a pencil skirt?" I asked making imaginary air quotes with my fingers. He shrugged.
"It's the principal of the thing," he replied lazily. I turned my head to look at Sebastian who had just emerged from his dressing room and took a step back in shock. Sebastian was wearing the exact same disguise as I was, of course, minus the skirt part, but it would have been funny to see him in a skirt. I smiled to myself. Sebastian raised an eyebrow.
"See something you like?" he asked. He was wearing a brown wig and brown contacts that completely threw me off. They looked out of place, but it suited the whole 'police' look. I shook my head.
"Don't flatter yourself," I sighed as I walked back to the dressing room, all the while Nick chuckled at our interaction.
"Nice friend you got there," I heard Nick say to Sebastian.
A few minutes later, I came out wearing another disguise, this time as a pregnant woman. Wearing a dirty blond wig that reached my shoulders and blue contacts, I patted my big stomach under the green maternity dress that I was wearing.
I took a step out of the room and was met with immediate laughter by both guys.
"Hey! I thought it would be fun to try out! Don't judge!" I pouted and crossed my arms around my chest.
"You look...like a...pregnant...kid!" Sebastian spat out between fits of laughter. I huffed and turned around to my dressing room.
"Guess that's a no then," I said with attitude in my voice, but at the last minute, I turned around and flung a dress at him from the nearest rack using control.
"But you didn't have to be so mean about it!" I shouted, laughing at Sebastian attempting to untangle himself from the dress.
"Huh. No wonder why guys don't wear dresses," I said to him, smirking.
"You little...!" he didn't get to finish the sentence because Nick stuffed a long black wig on his head and I nearly fell on the floor from laughing.
"There!" he said with triumph. "Now you have the complete look!" Nick and I ran and hid behind racks of clothes, noticing Sebastian's raging face, but seeing the
playfulness in his eyes. I reached under my dress and pulled off the fake pregnant stomach because it was harder to move when you had to carry around
another load. Remind me to never get pregnant.
I jumped up and ran towards Sebastian, launching at him with random articled of clothing, while dodging his with control. Talk about a way to improve your talent.
Half an hour later, all three of us sat on the couch with goofy smiles on our faces and clothes scattered everywhere.
"Your know, you guys have to clean this up?" said Nick. We were up in an instant.
"Bye!" we both said as we grabbed out disguises and ran out of there.
"Okay!" I said to Sebastian as he sped away in his car, me sitting in the passenger seat. He cast me a glance and by the looks of his features, he wasn't used to me being so enthusiastic. I pulled out the hologram disk from my jacket pocket and turned it on. A green glow filled the car as Sebastian hit the road home.
"On to our very first target, macho man number one!" I said, staring at the blinking red dot. I pulled out a few papers stapled together. On the left side was a picture of the guy and the rest was information.
"Derek Syler," Sebastian observed as he stole a glance at the paper. I nodded.
"Works as a bouncer at the Tropical Grove night club. His talents are blend and defend. I'm presuming that all six guys have defend, you know, considering their size, so we just need to worry about their other talents, because they are all two talents." I recited. Sebastian nodded.
"All righty then. Destination, Tropical Grove."
