Sunday 26th November ~ 11:51pm

Jack's POV:

I couldn't remember waking up.

It was as though my life had cut from passing out in that chair, to staring up at a rickety ceiling with blurred vision. I blinked.

"And I thought you couldn't look any more pathetic~"

Anti's voice contributed to the immense head pain. I shook my head, attempting to shift.

I had to move.

"Shuddap..."

I made it onto my side before pain shot through my chest.

"How rude of me to tell you the truth, right~?"

Anti stood against the door on the other side of the room, arms folded and smirk flickering. I sucked in a breath for composure and kept struggling for movement.

"You're... full'a shit..."

"Don't test me child~" Anti snapped. I tried to push myself up yet my arms shook beneath me. "We both know you're the little bitch of the duo."

As I fell back onto the mattress I refused to meet Anti's gaze, and instead my eyes found a motionless figure in the dim light.

"Mark..."

"Yeah, that's right~" Anti mocked, and I could feel him watching as I dragged myself to the edge of my bed. "~you go crawling back to your saviour."

I didn't look at the demon, instead keeping my eyes on Mark, though at the word 'saviour' I flinched. Mark coughed.

"See where it gets you."

Out of the corner of my eye I caught a blur of green, and when I looked over at where Anti had been there was no trace of him. My bewilderment was short lived as Mark stirred.

"Mark?"

The American let out a confused grunt, and I hauled myself over the edge of the mattress.

Thud.

"...Jack?"

I stifled a cry as my chest stung, the strength to get up knocked out of me as I stared at the ceiling once again. Mark's bed creaked as he moved.

"Did you... die...?"

Even through the pain, a snort erupted from me - chest heaving as I laughed.

"...I'll take that as a no?"

I couldn't help but laugh for way longer than I should've considering the circumstances - whether it was the stress or the fear remained unclear. When I opened my eyes again Mark was peering over the bedside to see me.

"And I thought I was the giggly bitch."

"Yeah, well - suck a dick."

I grabbed the bed frame and attempted to pull myself up, only getting to my knees before the nausea kicked in. Yet I forced myself up anyway.

"Hey-"

"I got it-"

My knees trembled beneath me as I began to stand.

"Jack, I don't-"

Mark stood from his bed and I waved him off. He wasn't about to be my saviour again.

"It's fine-!"

My whole body swayed and I fell into the wall.

Immediately Mark crossed the room to me.
