Chapter 53

Hello all, and welcome to chapter 53. Finally we have arrived at a chapter I was excited to write. In fact, I've been looking forward to writing this chapter for months.

It was morning in Lumiose City, and Bonnie was sleeping soundly in her bed, sharing her pillow with Dedenne, while Squishy was sun bathing on the window sill.

The gang arrived back in Lumiose City yesterday evening after a week of walking. After Ash won his eighth gym badge, thanks to Greninja and his completed Ash-Greninja form, the gang left for Lumiose City for the Kalos League. Registration for the Kalos League was tomorrow, and the league started the following day. So today was wide open.

Bonnie groggily sat up in her bed and stretched, Dedenne did the same, mimicking her actions. It took her a second to remember that she was home and instantly gained her energy, as today was a big day. Bonnie quickly jumped out of bed, went to the bathroom to wash up, and changed into her clothes. Once ready, she picked up Squishy as Dedenne climbed up onto her head and she walked out of her room.

The house was still quiet, so Bonnie decided to respect that, assuming Clemont and Korrina were still asleep in his room. Ash and Serena didn't want to impose so they decided to stay at the Pokemon center, and return in the morning.

Bonnie quietly went down stairs and went to the kitchen for breakfast when...

"SURPRISE! HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY BONNIE!"

Bonnie, Dedenne, and Squishy were all very suprised, as they were not expecting this. In front of them was Bonnie's father Meyer, Clemont, Korrina, Ash, Serena, and Max.

"Oh wow, thank you everyone," said Bonnie as she recovered from the scare.

"Well you should really thank Korrina, it was her idea," said Meyer as her gestured to her.

"Well you only turn ten once. So I figured we should make it a birthday you'll always remember," said Korrina.

Max then walked up to Bonnie and gave her a hug, causing both of them to blush bright red.

"Happy Birthday Bonnie," said Max.

"Thanks. So how did you know to be here," Bonnie asked.

"Ash invited me when I ran into you guys back in Snowbell City. That's why I didn't wait for Ash's rematch, I needed to get back here and find you a birthday present," Max replied.

"Alright, time for a birthday breakfast," said Meyer

He then walked over to the table carrying a large stack of waffles, topped with whipped cream and berries, and placed it in front of Bonnie. Then poured warm syrup on top. Bonnie and Dedenne both thought it looked delicious, and Dedenne's mouth was watering, as he knew Bonnie was going to share.

Upon finishing breakfast they all left and headed to professor Sycamore's lab so Bonnie could choose her starter.

As they all walked to the lab, everyone reminisced about receiving their first Pokemon. Although the story of how Ash got Pickachu was the only one to get a few laughs.

Upon arriving at the lab Bonnie was about to open the door. But before she could, the door swung opened by professor Sycamore.

"Welcome everyone, I've been expecting you," said the professor as everyone walked in.
