"Do you think he likes 'noodle'?"

"I'm sure of it Vi."

'For the past 5 hours Violet has been sitting on the floor with Widget. She loves that stupid raccoon, I deserve attention too! I'm her best friend not the raccoon. I am not jealous of a raccoon over a robot girl.'

*sigh*

'I need a nap'

"Ashton your mumbling again."

I turn to Violet frozen, my face turning a million shades redder. She stares at me blank faced, an angry Widget in her arms.

"What's a 'jealous?'"

"Um, uh haha it's a"

"It's a what?"

"An emotion."

"Ooooh what does it mean!?"

"Hmm."

I can't tell her the truth that would be embarrassing. Think Ashton, think.

"It means..."

*Chime*

"Flower time!"

Phew

"Can Widget join us this time Ashton?"

Widget and I stare at each other, gazes full of hatred.

"I don't care, he's your pet."

"Yay! Come on Widget!"

Violet runs to the door dragging me and Widget with her. Violet left her apron and watering pail by the door last night and I'm kind of surprised she remembered they were there. She has been very forgetful lately. Violet opens the door and the 3 of us walk out, or more hopped in Violets case.

"Here we come Hibiscus bed!"

Violet runs off giggling, Widget right on her heels. She's excited as usual. I wonder if she has really thought threw leaving this place thoroughly? If we leave she may never come back here, I watch her water the Hibiscuses. Widget perched himself on her shoulder, she looks so content. Why would she want to leave and risk throwing this all away?

"Hey Ashton!"

I snap out of my thoughts to see the adorable girl running towards me.

"Are you ok?"

"Yeah I was just thinking."

"About what?"

I hesitate.

"Violet, you do know that if we leave here we may never come back."

Violet's smile faltered, she hasn't thought of this. Widget nuzzled his head against Violet's as she contemplated what was just revealed to her.

"Violet what do you want to do?"

A pained expression adorns her face as we all stand in silence awaiting her reply.

"We need to go, I need to know what happened to the professor and your 'mother.'....We need to bring them home."

The determination in Violets eyes was true, she definitely wasn't going to take no for an answer now. There's only one thing to do.

"Then I guess we have no choice."

Violet looks up at me quizzically.

"We head out tomorrow."

A smile graces my features as I look down at Violet, her expression changed from confused to overjoyed in a matter of seconds.

"Wait really!?"

"Well yeah I mean we had to leave sometime, why not tomorrow. I'm all healed, you've learned a little bit about the outside world, and now you've got a guard dog just incase."

*hiss*

Violet screeches in excitement, scaring Widget and I. Widget jumps from her shoulder and cowers behind me. Violet lurches forward and embraces me in a hug.

"I don't know what a dog is but thank you Ashton, thank you!"

My face flushes millions of different shades of red.

"Your welcome Vi."

"You really are the bestest friends in the world."

That hit me like a punch to the stomach. I'm pretty sure even Widget felt that one.

"Yeah... Friends."

Violet moves away from the hug.

"Come on Widget lets pack! You coming Ashton?"

"Yeah just give me a minute."

Violet runs off with Widget in tow, I stare after her. Once Violet is out of sight I turn back to the garden.

"She left without her pail."

A soft chuckle escapes me as I walk down the path. I bend down and pick up the watering pail she dropped in the-"

"Violets."

The Violets sit in the garden contently, some beautiful shades of purple and others pure white. Violet's have always been my favorite flower they are such beautiful flowers but I'm enamored with them for many other reasons now. I see innocence and love in the tiny flowers before me. From the corner of my eye I see a singular Violet stand out from the rest, it is beautiful. The violet was white with a dusted purple hue in the middle. I pluck the flower from where it stands and bring towards me. It's even more beautiful up close, just like Violet. I solemnly stare at the flower and bring it up to my face. Placing a light kiss on a singular petal.

"Ashton, come on it's gonna rain."

Violets faint voice comes from the house. I place the flower in my jacket pocket.

"Coming!"
