Violet

.°•Chapter 7.°•

We sit in silence, the air around us surprisingly comfortable. I hug my knees to my chest looking out upon the field of dew bells. It's been awhile since I've sat with someone, actually just it's been a while since I've had someone with me period. The ground was soft, I forgot it rained recently. I didn't even need to water the flowers. I look solemnly at the dew bells.

"Hey Ashton."

"Yeah?"

"What if we go find your mom."

"Woah! What?"

"Yeah and we could find the professor too, think about it we could get our families back!"

A huge smile spreads across my face just thinking about it, there is a chance that he's out there waiting for me.

"Do you know how insane you sound?"

"Why is that 'insane'?"

Ashton's voice keeps raising octave after octave as he tells me all the dangers of the world outside the garden. The only problem is he's only telling me about the diseases and germs. Which has literally no effect on me, I mean I don't think so at least.

"Are you even listening!?"

"Yes! And I'll have you know I am immune to disease."

"Of course you are, but I'm not!"

"What if we pack supplies? Food, the neosporin, um other human needs?"

"I don't know Violet I mean you barely know anything about the outside world and I can barely walk."

"Then let's wait for your leg to get better and then go, I'm never going to learn about the outside if I never go there. You could tell me all about it while your healing, prepare me for the adventure!"

"I-" Ashton cuts himself off, thinking everything Violet said over. He looks to her.

Violet's eyes sparkle with anticipation, Ashton shifts his gaze from Violet to the dew bells. 'Violet did make a good point and is definitely passionate about this. She could learn about the world outside her garden, and what if we do find my mom and the professor.' Ashton continues to mumble to himself, Violet listening intently.

"I've decided."

Violet's eyes widen, the moment she has been dreaming and hoping for being held in the fragile boys hands; She holds her breath in anticipation.

"We will go, but not until I'm fully healed, and I prepare you."

Violet screams in delight making Ashton flinch back.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you Ashton! I'll go get the Neosporin!"

Violet jumps up and begins to run back to the house.

"Violet wait!"

By the time Ashton could process the situation and yell for her she was already out of earshot. He stares at her retreating form a soft chuckle escapin past his lips.
