"I think Martha should go next" I say. Martha whips around and 9 looks triumphant.
"Why me?" she asks, as though I have something against her.
"You're our best shooter. we will need you on defence and attack when we reach near the middle, you must have all you're senses for that."
Angie nods in agreement.
"Ok" Martha breaths and takes a step onto the check point.
9 pouts, "so basically what your saying is that you need Martha more than me and that I'm more expendable?" he asks, "yes" say Angie and I together, "...well that's a first" he admits and I roll my eyes. as I do I see that Martha has collapsed and is struggling to get up, "A little help?".
9 and I exchange worried glances and Angie looks concerned. "what's wrong?" she asks, "what's happened?" "my left leg has gone dead" she groans, "this is way past the point if pins and needles, I can't even feel it!" she massages her leg. "Help me up?" she asks.
After 5 minutes of discussing how to get her to the next base we decide that we'd have to partially carry her.
With her arms around mine and Angie's neck, (9 was to tall), we set off again though the maze.
Gods Martha is heavy!!! they say muscle is one of the heaviest things in your body and Martha seems to have picked up a lot of it from working with UNIT! It's not long before I start to get tired and my neck starts to be weighed down. Angie seems to be struggling just as much as me, "oh come on I'm not that fat!" Martha snaps, 9 snickers.
Just then I hear someone shouting. "ummmm" I say, and out of nowhere comes 10 with rose piggy-backing on him and screaming bloody murder as she fires her weapon at us without much aim. Mickey seems more than a little jealous and Jenny is violently trying to kill us all with her gun. figures.
Then from behind the corner comes 11's group with Clara in pretty much the same position as rose and no less obvious that she was enjoying it. Off on the sidelines I can hear Jack complaining about wanting a piggy-back ride from 10 to, from what I can tell he's got "dibs on the next go" this makes me frown a little, since jack wasn't travelling with 10 but 9, but I suppose jack hits on anyone and anything, including 10 in the future/past, still...
Next thing I know Martha has happened upon 9's shoulders and its an all out piggy-back war. luckily, none of us get sent back to the last checkpoint, but unfortunately for jack, he was too bust checking out Rose and 10 to notice Mickey creep up behind him and tag him 3 times.
While this is happening our team heads steadily off in the other direction to try and find the next checkpoint.
