THE REASON NATALIA brought two people along with her was because she knew she would have at least one of said people at her side and didn't have to go through the event in fear of being left alone.
but no, rosa and penelope were both out of sight and natalia was lowkey freaking out. this was her first public appearance for a while so she was nervous, even more so knowing that he was here.
natalia tried to play it cool, walking around, getting the photo taken, chatting to people whom approached her. she was almost used to having people tapping her shoulder and greeting her so when this one person tapped her from behind, she was clueless, to say the least.
the beaming smile she spun around with had erased from her features as quickly as it came. she felt the blood drain from her face and she suddenly felt very, very sick. she also really, really hated the two Australian girls she classed as friends.
"Hey."
his soft voice tingled through her body, she felt a rush of nostalgia run through her veins and her heart grow tight in her chest. she hadn't heard his voice since the last time she saw him face to face, which was when they broke up.
she just stood there, pathetically, she didn't know what to do, she didn't know what to say. well, what was there to say? she was on a fucking red carpet for crying out loud, cameras everywhere. she couldn't do anything.
"Hi." she managed to breathe out. she hated how vulnerable she felt standing in front of him.
"Sorry," he spoke softly, "this was the wrong place, wasn't it?"
"you could say that, yeah."
he let out a gentle chuckle and natalia had to stop her heart from exploding in her chest.
"could we talk? preferably later, when theres not as many camera's around." he asked her, silently praying she'd say yes.
"do i have a choice in the matter?"
"you always had a choice, tal."
she finally looked away from his eyes, the eyes she fell deeply in love with, the eyes she looked into so intimately. you always had a choice. she knew what he meant by this, but why say it?
"i'll text you the hotel i'm staying in, no one knows i'm staying there so it'll be just us." she replied short but softly.
timothée's eyes held a look of shock and surprise at her words, he was thankful she would give him a chance to explain and for them to talk. he needed to talk to her, he really did, so this was more so for him than for her. but he also felt that talking would help her, aswell. she always kept things so enclosed before timothée, she was unreadable, but he knew when something was wrong. he could see the way her whole body would sigh out with relief when she finally let out whatever was on her mind to him. he knew talking helped her, though she would never admit it.
they soon left each other, without another word and natalia found her two australian ex friends. she hoped the event would pass slowly so she could work up a little confidence and pull herself together for this evening.
