interviewer ; natalia

we would now like to introduce model and now former business woman, natalia brooks! it's so lovely to have you here!

thank you so much for having me! i watched this show when i was growing up so being here is like so funny to me.

well, we were all very excited to have you here today knowing that you have a lot of things to talk about and things to announce, aswell.

yeah, yes. it's been a crazy couple of months-- i never pictured my life to be like this honestly.

so, one of the reasons for you being here today was to discuss a situation that you are finally allowed to talk about?

yeah-- so basically i wanted to explain everything and for everyone to understand before they're kept completely in the dark and their imagination goes wild-- i was recently photographed rather.. distressed [laughs] coming out of court. now i'm aware people have already heard roughly of the situation but i wasn't allowed to comment on it due to legal reasons, but now its safe for me to explain that i was sexually manipulated by a photographer i had worked with. he had published the photos he had said he wouldn't and well-- everyones seen them so i dont need to explain them. he had done it without my consent, lying to me and my team saying that they wouldn't be used. not only did he pressure me into taking this photos, he also published them without my permission.

-- and why did you feel it was right for you to speak of the situation?

i decided to speak out on the situation because i know others have gone through the same thing as me-- or even a lot worse. i want justice for me, them, us. the modelling industry is a very vulnerable and manipulative place, it's very toxic in places and it made me not enjoy something i've loved for ages. i don't understand why somebody like me, who has a voice that people might listen to, wouldn't speak out about serious situations.

so you decided to start up your own alternative?

i didn't want to completely finish up on modelling and wash my hands of it, so i decided one night that i wanted to start up a blog, to which became a website and now is in the process of becoming a company called ROSE MILK. its basically a website that has photography, poetry, music, touches on serious issues. we touch on everything. we're in the works of making four hand held magazines a year touching on different things for each season. a womans issue is definitely in the works

that sounds really good! you seem as though you have a real passion for your new career path. its good to see such a young woman want to actually make a difference and use her platform to be a voice for the generation.

yeah. i definitely wish there was more people doing that but i guess not everyone is like that, i've always wanted to see a change and now i'm able to actually make the change i've wanted to do for a while.

now, we know you are quite open with your personal life-- where needs be, but everyone has noticed how inactive you've been on social media. the last we heard were a few tweets of you commenting on a video made about you are ex partner, timothee chalamet.

after that-- i decided social media was just consuming me and it wasn't making me happy. in all honesty, you could call me absolutely anything but two things i will not have is being accused as a cheater or having people i'm close with get targeted. yes, timothee and i decided to mutually split from each other, but to have people make videos or write theories on why we broke up and whose fault it was, in my opinion, is rather sad and hurtful.

i guess it just was rather a shock to everyone seeing how close you both were and how strong the relationship seemed to be.

i guess so, and i guess thats what is wrong with social media-- people are so quick to judge something-- good or bad-- and make up their own stories of someone else's life. yes, timm-timothee and i were happy, very happy together but some things just get in the way and we both agreed it was better for us both because there was too much going on.

have you heard from him since you both split? by the sounds of it, you both seem as though you're on good terms and there's no bad blood between the both of you.

no, i haven't heard from him-- we've both been very busy but i think about him all the time, i still love him very much and want the best for him. maybe we'll bump into each other soon and catch up [laughs] but for now, i know there is just too much going on in our lives at the moment.
