A Broken Heart

The Day We Met

During the month of February, I met this amazing guy. His name was Ryan. We met at The Door. It was awkward at first because I didn't talk to him but he asked me to put my name in his SnapChat. I thought it was just going to be for streaks but it was something different. I put my SnapChat in his phone and that was that. He didn't start talking to me until I started to play basketball with my friend. He stared at me and I didn't know if he was looking off into the distance or staring at me. I thought he was just thinking about something so I let it go behind me. But as soon as I looked up, he was staring at me again. I did not know what was going on but I let it go again. I got a phone call from my mama. She told me to come home because it was getting dark. I said goodbye to everyone including Ryan. As I was walking home, my phone buzzed. I got a SnapChat notification. I pulled out my phone to see who it was from. It was from Ryan. He texted me saying: "Hey!" I replied with: "Hi." I put my phone back in my pocket and just kept on walking. Again, my phone buzzed and it was from Ryan. He started asking me how I was and he started up a conversation. I tried to text him back but my phone died. I just put it back in my pocket and walked home. I walked into my house and put my shoes in the caddy. I started a conversation with my mom and we ended it by me going up the stairs. I plugged my phone in to let it charge. When my phone was charging, I got on my laptop. As soon as I heard my phone buzz, I knew it was powering up again. I got many notifications and some were from Ryan. I let them go for a minute to get on social media and then my friend called me. She FaceTimed me and we went on from there. I opened Ryan's SnapChat and he said: "I like you." I replied with: "Really?" And he said: "No I'm just leading you on, yes I like you." I was so shocked and then he popped the question. He said: "Will you go out with me?" And I said: "Yes!" I told Emalee and we were all happy. I went to bed that night with the biggest smile on my face knowing that I found someone who loves me.
