I was in Civics on a Monday afternoon. There was 5 minutes left of class and I was hoping that I would get my worksheet done in time so I would have no homework. I didn't look at the clock so time would go faster. I looked at the clock and it was 2:52 pm. One minute till we can leave school. I got my work done just in time before the bell rang. The bell rang and I bolted to my locker so I won't get caught in the way of people. I put my Civics binder in my locker and put my binder, pencil pouch and iPad in my backpack. I grabbed my phone from the top of my locker and went to Abi's locker to wait for her like I normally would on a basic school day. As soon as Abi got her stuff, we all headed out the door to go home or do something with friends. I told Abi that I was so anxious to hold hands with Ryan. I was so scared. Yea he was my boyfriend and all but still I was worried. We hit the curb and we all went separate ways. I went home to check in and Abi either went home or to The Door. I went home and checked in with my mom. I told my mom that I had to hurry up and get to The Door so I wouldn't be late to see Ryan. He took 45 minutes to get to The Door but it was totally worth it. He got there and he sat down right next to me. I leaned on his shoulder and he laid his head on mine. At that moment, it was perfect. Everyone kept making Love things with their hands. I did mind at first but after that I didn't care. I found my love and was happy to call him mine. At that moment, I thought it was just a dream but it wasn't. It was true and so glad that it was. The Door was closing and it was time to go to Refuge and it was great. Ryan and I held hands until we got there. He played games with others and I talked to my friends. As soon as it was time to go sit down, people kept giving me the look. The romance look. It made me uncomfortable at the time. I just felt awkward. But it was okay. Everything went well. The end of Refuge was my favorite part.
