Still Craig's POV

I hesitantly slipped into the icy water, shivering once more. I breathed out heavily, trying to get used to it. I'm going to do this! I thought to myself, determined. I sank under the water, managing to keep my eyes open.

I looked around, having to poke my head from the water every so often to breathe.

I saw the bright figure once more while I was taking a breath above water. I immediately plugged back into the cold water, following after it. The figure was swimming at a normal pace, slow enough for me to be able to catch up.

I took advantage of it and sped up, catching a clear glance at it. It was a.. human? But with a tail? I was obviously confused considering the only real possibility was the person being a so called 'mermaid'. But it didn't even make sense. Mermaids aren't real! They were just a stupid myth for little kids.

But.. it kind of made sense? I mean, what were the other possibilities. The 'person' looked like a guy so technically it would be a merman? I realized how long I had been underwater and popped my head out quickly, panting heavily.

I swam back up to the boat, crawling back onto it. I sat at the edge, my legs dangling off of the boat as I thought about the creature. I couldn't be seeing things.. I saw the creature multiple times.

I sighed, not wanting to wrap my head around the situation considering it was the middle of the night.

~Time skip to morning~

I got up, rubbing my head tiredly. My hair was wet, confusing me. I suddenly remembered last nights events. I was still trying to figure out what the creature was but I didn't want to focus on it. I stood up and groaned, still exhausted.

I got dressed and walked from where my so called 'bedroom' was to see Clyde and Token already awake. "What took you so long to wake up?" The brunette chuckled as soon as he saw me. I rolled my eyes "I just had trouble sleeping" I lazily lied. He walked up to me as if examining me.

"Why's your hair damp?" He asked. He didn't seem angry, just curious. I shrugged "what? I didn't even notice" I grumbled, still only half awake. He simply looked at me, obviously not believing me. "Explain." He simply said. "You sound like Token" I told him bluntly.

Token quietly watched, amused of what he was doing. "You're going to think I'm insane. No." I said, glaring at him in annoyance. I was tired and didn't want to deal with Clyde's shit. "Tell me or else I'm going to continue asking" he whined. "Fine, but I swear if you call me insane I'm going to say I told you so".

Then, very reluctantly, I told him about what I saw and what I did the night before.

Hellooooo. Sorry this chapter is so short, I didn't really write it on my normal writing platform :') (I usually write my fanfic on Discord oops). So yeah. This chapter makes absolutely no sense so sorry about that.

Also thank you so much for ranking this #58 in the creek tag! I bet that'll probably lower soon because this sucks but for the meantime, thank you. I'll post another chapter within the next week or so.
