Your POV

I have a lot to be proud of in this life. I have a good reputation, I have good friends who are determined to join me in space sometimes, I have a beautiful body and I am a badass. I have good grades and I am the youngest person in history to ever get the chance to go into space. I have been in multiple fights, but always come on top.

~~~
I walk up to the young siblings before my departure "heya Matty, heya Kitty" I smile as I ruffle Katie's long locks "so, excited for going into space?" Matt asks which makes me grin wider "of course" I screech "I am going out into the unknown, and soon, you guys will be up there with me. Or I will come back down just to steal you guys" I tease. Katie's eyes slowly look at her feet as if they're the most interesting thing in the world "hey, hey. Whats wrong?" I softly ask tipping my knees so that they lay on the rough ground as my left hand finds its place on her shoulder and the other under her chin, lightly tipping it upwards so that I can see her face as her blonde locks covered it.
My smile disappears when I see the small liquid gathering in her eyes "n-no. If you don't come back, then Matt-Matt and I will get you" she hiccups, it warms my heart when I hear the soft affection hidden under the sadness Matt leans down to us, lightly embracing us like the brother he is. For this moment its just the three of us. We stay like this until I get called for my flight.
I reluctantly leave the group embrace. While walking to the rocket, I bump into a stiff body, from the contact I can tell it's a well-built guy. I raise my head "hey, sorry. I got to get to my rocket" I explain hurriedly "I should be apologising, my bad. Did you say rocket? Are you the y/n l/n? The youngest person to complete the training and are allowed to go into space?" He pried I nod hurriedly "I got to go, but yes. That's me" I give the person a short cheery smile then bolted to my rocket before Sir yelled at me.
When I step on the rocket I am hurried to the piolet seat I laugh at the urgency to start the mission. I am the leader of this mission to Pluto. I smirk when I see the controls I have never crashed in the simulator which put me in the position I am in now "alright, are we ready to go? Y/n to Control, we are ready for lift off" I place my hand on my communicator. It drops after my statement "alrighty boys. Lets start this mission!" I cheer while I start up the engines and get ready for flight. I tuck a small image in my pocket.
The picture was of Matt and Katie on Katie's 12th birthday. She had bits of her birthday cake scrubbed all over her mouth Matt was laughing at the sight. I took advantage of the time when I took the photo. Everyone looked so at peace. So happy. My mind flickers to them as we near exiting the Earth's atmosphere I keep on course.
By the time we neared Pluto's Atmosphere something hit our rocket I was already on alert as soon as we left Earth. The weight of all their lives on my shoulder, so I started snapping orders and asking questions. We had to get out of here. That's when they contacted us, our eyes as wide as they could possibly be. I was distracted, they hit us again, closing the contact and destroying our communication back to Earth. They didn't hold back. They were ruthless.
/Back with Katie and Matt/3rd person POV
They got the news the next day. Something slightly broke in Katie and Matt, something made them work harder to get into space. By the time it was Matt's turn to venture into space, Katie clung to him and made him promise to return back to her.
A day after the expedition that Matt and her father were apart of Katie saw the news, her heart fully shattered. The news said that the Holts' rocket malfunctioned. She fully snapped. She broke into encrypted files to try and find out what actually happened. When she got caught millions of times, she faked being a boy and she got into the Garrison's. She became the mechanic of two lunatics.
