Family - Daichi x Reader Haikyuu

(Reader is Satsuki and Mei's older sister (from Totoro))

A soft sigh escapes my lips because the club that I am in is getting lectured because of something again. Apparently somebody thought it was a good idea to spike a volleyball at the deputy's head and knock off his wig after school in the volleyball club. I am so going to murder those first years. When the lecture finished I get up and walk over to both the ginger and raven haired boys.

A psychotic aura surrounded me when I walked near them, hair covering my eyes making it creepier. The two boys froze in their place "so, Hinata and Kageyama, right?" I question to which they shakily nod as a response "if you ever do something like that again, and I mean ever, I will murder you and revive you only to murder you again, understood?!" I threaten in a deadly voice. The two boys quiver in their boots.

"I can't stay for practice, sorry Daichi. I need to get home as soon as I can because my mom is still in hospital and my sisters are –" Daichi stops me with a wave of his hand "it's alright Y/n, you don't need to explain. Say hi to Mei and Satsuki for me" he replies then walks off to the rest of the group. A chorus of goodbyes are exchanged and I start leaving pretty quickly after that. I head the normal route back to the new house.

When I get home the sun has almost gone down, which lowers my mood since I won't be able to spend a lot of time with Mei and Satsuki, but the mere thought of them raises my hopes even just a little. Hearing about Mei's adventures in the backyard and hearing about Satsuki's day at school is always refreshing, don't even get me started on dad he isn't home until late because of the university. However, it is nice to hear about his day every once in a while, too.

When I walk in the front door I take my shoes off and enter the place I call home "Mei! Satsuki! I'm home from school!" I shout preparing myself for the tackling I always get from the two. I wait a bit but it doesn't come "Mei! Satsuki! Where are you two!" I shout as I walk around the house. There is usually giggling or something if they try to hide from me but the house is dead silent. I quickly run around the house and out the back screaming their names since I haven't heard either of them.

When I'm done searching the house and its been confirmed that they are not here I chuck my bag off my back, quickly slip on my shoes, get the keys and my phone. I start running towards Grannie's, Grannie is our neighbour and she usually looks after Mei when Satsuki, dad and I are not home, she also looks after Satsuki too when dad and I are not home. With a bit of adrenaline, I run to Grannie's place.

When I get there it is already dark but I knock on the door anyway, my heart racing from the long distanced run I just did. Slowly someone yells that they are coming and soon a middle aged woman opens the door for me. "A-are Mei and Sat-Satsuki here?" I pant the woman nods and yells for Grannie. When Grannie walks in we lock eyes and she automatically knows why I am here "come in, come in. Mei is asleep and Satsuki is watching her" Grannie explains to me and I nod in understanding.

We stop walking through the house when we reach a small room with one bed. There are two figures there, one laying sound asleep and the other dozing off slightly. My expression softens "I'll take them home now. Thank you for looking after them Grannie" I thank her and walk into the room. "Hey Satsuki, I'm going to pick up Mei alright? We are going home" I whisper to the older girl. She sluggishly nods I pick Mei up with one arm and with the other I hold out my hand for Satsuki.

We start walking to the exit of the house. I thank the women again and once we have our shoes on and Mei's are in my hand we start our journey back home. I know that both Satsuki and Mei have been missing mom and because of that, it is supposed to me who fills in until she returns but with all my work, school and the volleyball club, I don't have time to help around the house a lot. The effect of me not being at home when I am needed is putting pressure on Satsuki to be the grown up and responsible one.
