Crushed (4) 🌻 Alana's Auditions
"Here we are!"
Standing by the doorway, Alana and I gawked at the auditorium, the place where she would be auditioning for the singing competition.
Rows of white lights were on the ceiling, brightening the room. There were classy carpets on the floor, hundreds of velvet chairs, and a big stage with a big red curtain and a wooden floor of good quality. It was truly a perfect place for watching different forms of entertainment.
"It's quite nice." I replied.
She giggled. "Calling this quite nice is an understatement. It's magnificent!"
Magnificent nificent, her voice echoed.
Being on the stage in front was a dream of Alana since we first got into this school. It was rare for us to visit this place since it was the least used facility in the entire building. Quite often, Alana would peek inside everytime we passed by here.
Now, she finally got the opportunity to sing in front.
Alana started roaming around the room aimlessly. I watched her as she looked amused with everything around her despite the fact that it wasn't her first time to see the auditorium.
I glanced at the time. It was a few minutes before the ending of today's lunch period.
"Hey, Alana." I said as I pointed at my watch.
"What?" she looked at me as the wave of realization went over her. "Yeah, right."
"Let's go."

Tick. Tock. Tick. Tock.
Alana and I stared at the clock as we were waiting for our last period to end. Throughout the whole class, she kept looking at me. It was as if she was telling me she couldn't wait for the auditions to start.
Indeed, it was true.
As soon as the bell rang, all of us in class rushed outside the room. Alana was the first one to go out.
"Alana, wai--"
"LILIAN!" Alana yelled as she yanked my arm and pulled me through the packed hallway.
"Excuse me. Ah! Sorry, didn't mean to. Excuse me!"
"Alana, slow down!" I groused.
When we were finally able to get through the packed halls, Alana and I ran as fast as we could to the auditorium only to be greeted again by another crowd.
The doorway to the auditorium was closed. The sound of drills can be clearly heard from the inside.
"What about the audition?" a student growled.
"Yeah!" another protested. "I spent those hours of practicing for nothing!"
It was chaos, everyone was upset. Numerous students were complaining here and there and telling the others that the school staff just wasted their time. An atmosphere full of unsatisfied complaints I must say.
