"Dylan! Jesus what's gotten into you?" Sarah's voice screeched over the loud music. I gulped down my third shot and slammed the small glass on the wooden counter. "Another?" A blurry bartender asked. I nodded my head and shifted in the uncomfortable bar stool. "It's a new me!" I slurred and swayed a little. My head was super fuzzy along with my vision. After sitting in my room, completely mortified I let a guy take over my thoughts and actions for a solid three months, I got angry and threw on one of Sarah's skimpy dresses, dragged Sarah out of bed and drove to the pub across from some arena. I was completely drunk which was pretty pathetic. I had only had three shots and started feeling tipsy on the first one. I mentally scolded myself for not going to enough parties so I could drink more without blacking out. "Let's get you out of here." Sarah started trying to pull my arm. "Let me live!" I said in a voice I had never heard before. I touched my throat and then waved my hand lazily in front of me. "Let me be me." I hiccuped and swayed to the beat of the unknown song. "Let's go." Sarah said firmly. She pulled me out of the bar stool and I stumbled. Sarah put her arm around my waist and I lazily slung my arm around her shoulder. I closed my eyes and let her drag me to the car. I started looking through my bag for my keys before it was snatched from me. "Heeyyyyyy." I slurred. "You are not driving." Sarah said. I pouted and stumbled to the passenger door. I slammed the door close and shifted the seat. I tried taking my extremely high stripper heels off and I struggled with the strap for a few minutes. I felt the car stop and turn off and I looked up at where we were parked. I couldn't put my finger where we were but I knew that I had been here before. The passenger door opened and Sarah stood in front of me. "Stick your feet out." She sighed. I did as told and leaned against the center console. I felt relief in my feet and heard a clunk. I looked at the floor and saw two of the most uncomfortable shoes there and I wiggled my toes. Sarah pulled me out of the car and we walked to the small diner. All the lights were off and Sarah started knocking . "Jake!" She yelled and a light flickered on. Jake answered the door with his usual navy hat and flannel. His beach blonde hair poked through and his eyes shined in the light of the moonlight. "Jake!" I squealed and threw my arms around him. "What's wrong with her?" His grumpy voice echoed in my ears. "Shes plastered." Sarah said. "Am not!" I slurred. I pulled away from Jake and he rolled his eyes. He grabbed my arm and put it around his neck. He aggressively hit my knees making them buckle and I was suddenly flying. I started freaking out and Jake groaned. "Calm down. I'm carrying you." He set me in a booth and I scooted to the back and threw my feet on the seat. He set a cup of coffee and bread in front of me and instructed me to eat and drink. I did as I was told and Sarah and Jake sat on the other side. The radio was quietly playing in the background. I started feeling my head clear slightly and I looked at the two people across from me with worried expressions.
I sighed and bowed my head. "Dylan what's going on?" I heard Sarah softly whispers after a few seconds of silence. I let out a breath of air and sucked one in. "Luke." I simply said. They both looked at me confused and I continued. "Ever since I met him, we've had this, well this," I stumbled and tried to find the right words for what we had. "We kind of kissed each other and then played with each other and I don't know, I thought maybe, just maybe, he liked me. He told me some vague thing about one of our kisses and I took it as a good thing but when I asked him to clarify what it meant, he stood silent and let me walk away. And he also ditched me for different periods of time during the kisses which confused me more and I figured out that I let myself get completely absorbed in the bullshit he was feeding me and I feel so ashamed of it. I just wanted to start living differently and I guess that worked out horribly." I finished choking on my tears. "I know exactly what you need!" Jake said after a few minutes. He whispered something in Sarah's ear and Sarah smiled. The got out of the booth and Jake ran off behind the counter. Sarah dragged me out of the booth and pulled me up the stairs into Jake's loft. She sat me in one of the kitchen chairs and I watched as she gathered blankets and pillows and set them up in front of the tv. I smiled and got up and started helping her. Jake walked in with a bunch of junk food and three different movies in his arms. He put the junk food in the middle and stuck the disk in the DVD player. "I love you guys." I smiled and grabbed a handful of popcorn. They both smiled and put their arms around me. I snuggled into my blanket and got completely absorbed in the magical land of Neverland.
