I laid down on the table, ready to get my AI. York, North, and Tex had already received their AIs and I was next on the block.

"Take care, Rhode."

I smirked at Carolina. "I'll be fiine, Carolina. I did survive a building falling on me."

"Right, right." She looked away.

The doctors got everything ready, then turned off the gravity in the room. They stuck to the floor with magnetized boots, but I was weightless, allowing them to turn me over in my armor. Quickly, they implanted the interface into the back of my neck, then put in the AI chip, mercury rushing into my brain. Using my strong will, I remained conscious as the docs spun me over again and turned gravity back on.

"Hang on... I'm getting abnormal brain waves from him!"

The docs began to murmur and the Consular frowned while the Director stayed emotionless. After a moment to regain my sense of balance, I stood up and the docs began to freak out. I smiled at them.

"Thanks for worrying, but I'm fine, honestly. I can take care of myself."

Smiling, I walked out of the room and looked at the Director.

"If you're wondering, I'm perfectly fine. May I ask what AI I was given?"

Suddenly, a mini person appeared. They glowed a calming blue and had the shape of a woman with her hair cut to touch her collar. She sat on my shoulder and looked up at me.

"I am Xi, but you can give me a different name if you like. I don't mind."

I raised an eyebrow. "Xi, huh? Cool. What are you really good at, Xi?"

"I am good at analyzing things, like tactics and enemy movements."

"So you're a tactician, huh? Good to know, good to know."

"I see that you have been given two different armor equipment. A Healing Unit as well as experimental shielding technology that renders the user invulnerable, but at the cost of being stuck to the ground. Interesting. Ah, I see the problem with the shield tech and am fixing it now... there. Done."

I looked at her. "What did you do?"

She looked up at me. "I altered the gravity projectors so that they blah blah blah blah blah..." I tuned out, lost in her scince mumbo-jumbo.

She noticed my glazed eyes and snorted. "I lost you, didn't I?"

"Yep."

She sighed. "Should have known. In a nutshell, you can move while being impervious to damage. You can fight, too. Thing is, you won't be able to use your healing unit while using the enhancement because I'll have to use most, if not all, of my processing power to keep your mobility up."

"I heard that!"

The Director smiled. "Very well. Go get some sleep. Tomorrow, you'll have a match with Agents North Dakota and New York. Dismissed!"

We saluted, then walked away. Jun entered his room while Carolina and I roamed the ship. As we walked, my legs suddenly froze up.

"What the-?"
