"York. I need to come clean."

He titled his head. "About what?"

"A lot of things. One, I've been having vivid nightmares about a different thing. Two, I used to be a part of NOBLE."

York leaned close. "Wait, NOBLE? Weren't they a team of all Spartans? How'd a Marine like you join 'em?"

"Third, I'm a Spartan Three that's gone AWOL. The UNSC and ONI don't know for certain I'm alive. And... four, my name... is Noble Six."

York blinked at me, then sat up. "You're ly-"

I cut him off by pulling out NOBLE's dog-tags. Gently putting them down on the table, I let York and Delta examine them.

"These are authentic, York. How did you get them, Rhode?"

A tear rolled down my cheek, my mind on their fate. "I... I acquired them during the Fall of Reach. I... I miss my teammates."

York sighed, then got up. He walked around the table to sit next to me, a brotherly arm around my shoulder. "It'll be okay, Rh-Six. It'll be okay. You're strong, so keep fighting. I know you can do it."

I began to break down and I threw his arm away from me. "Stay away. Everyone I've ever loved is GONE and they will NEVER return! Just... just stay away..." I began to sob uncontrollably.

"Six..."

I stood up and walked away. "Leave me be."

York simply watched as I left. Might as well train.

------------------------------

York's POV:

I watched as Rhode Island, this larger-than-life uber-soldier, broke down before me. He lashed out at me and stormed away, tears rolling down his cheeks. Once he was gone, I looked at Delta.

"Where is he going?"

"I predict he is going to train."

"Guess I'll watch over him."

Wash came into the rec room, but I left without a word, confusing the rook. Making my way to the spectator area of the training room, I watched as Rhode/Six walked into the center, helmet on. He went through the toughest training regiments like they were nothing and he kept going on and on and on and on, he was starting to worry me.

Eventually, the time hit ten in the afternoon, me living off of protein bars and coffee. Six hadn't even taken a break from training to eat, or drink, or anything.

Jersey clasped me on the shoulder. "Did he tell you?"

"That he's actually Six? Yeah. He's been training nonstop since oh five hundred five."

Jersey sighed and sat down, watching Six complete yet another regiment. "You realize you'll have to face him, right?"

"Yeah, I do. I just hope he holds back."

Standing up, I began to leave when Jersey grabbed my arm. "Take care of him, will you?"

I nodded. "Sure thing, Jerk."

Jersey glared at me and I ran away, giggling like a kid. Once I donned my armor, however, I couldn't shake the feeling a catastrophe was about to happen.

Why am I thinking this?

Okay! Short chapter, but basically, Six has gone Lone Wolf. He's become cold as ice and is letting nothing into his heart.

But what's this about pending doom?
