"You're the one that kept embarrassing me!"

"I was trying to lighten everything up!" He yells back at me.

"By turning me and everything I have into a joke!" I exclaim, throwing my hands up in the air.

He rolls his eyes and scoffs. "It's not a joke when it's true"

I feel hurt. No scratch that. I feel more than hurt, I feel humiliated.

I shake my head, fighting the tears in my eyes. "How dare you make me feel any less than you" I whisper out, practically shaking as I glare at him.

His eyes hold mine, completely expressionless for a second, before roaming all over the mess Matt and Danny made.

"Get this cleaned up why don't you?" He says, gesturing to the pasta and paninis on the floor, before turning around and leaving the room.

Now here I am. Extra early for work simply because I don't want to be home.

"Wow" Tania shakes her head, and grabs a hold of her coffee in both hands, bringing it up to her lips for second before continuing, "Kevin has really been getting out of line."

Tania, like I said earlier, is my boss. Of course, she also turned into my friend and an older woman with experience that I can talk to. She's in her late thirties, and so far she's helped me a ton.

I sigh, playing with the little spoon in my cup. "Tell me about it" I mutter, grumpily. "It's just, he never understands" I cover my face in my hands.

"In my case, I think men never understand" She chuckles, before taking one more sip. "My husband Tim also has those problems. But we always talk it through, and in the end, make up. From our talk, he tries to change and recognize that part is his fault too"

I uncover my face and give her a flat face. "Tania, that doesn't happen with Kevin and I. He's always 'right'" I make anti-quotations in the air at the word "right".

"I just don't know what to do anymore" I mumble, chewing on my bottom lip in thought.

"And your friend?"

My eyes move to her curious brown eyes and I raise a brow at her. "What friend?"

She giggles lightly. "Oh come on Marcy, the very handsome one with the other handsome friends he comes in with. They come every morning..." She stretches out the 'morning' with a teasing smile.

"Hmm" I begin playing with the spoon again.

"You sometimes take your break time to talk with him..." she pushes on.

Ignore her.

"He comes and picks you up sometimes..."

"Okay" I surrender. "and your point is?"

She gives me very subtle look and I answer her question. "He's only a friend, Tania"

She narrows her eyes at me.

"A very good one" I add in.

She takes another sip of her coffee. "Well, he seems like a nice guy"

I nod. "He is"

She pauses for a second, staring at me pensively. Then she grabs my hand in hers, holding it gently. "Everything's going to be okay, Marcy. You are a very beautiful woman with a lot of value. Don't let anyone take that away"
