It's been an entire week since we moved here, and fortunately I haven't seen that weirdo. We still have some boxes packed but for the most part we're done unpacking. I considered going over and thanking them for the casserole. Coming from someone that doesn't eat much, that casserole was probably the best food I've ever had. Anyway I thought about thanking them, but I decided against it. I have school tomorrow and I'm really not looking forward to that, but then again who likes school. After dinner, I wash my dishes and put them in the dishwasher. "I'm going to bed mom." I said then yawned "Okay, goodnight." she responded. I head upstairs to my room and open the door. We still haven't completely finished unpacking and setting things up. My bed is still disassembled and my mattress is still downstairs, which means I have to sleep on the air mattress. I plop down onto the makeshift bed and climb into the sleeping bag. I start thinking about how things could've gone differently, maybe in an alternate reality we could still be a family. But that's not how things went, and unfortunately that's not how things go. I wake up the next day and get ready for school, I don't often brush my fur because it falls down naturally and looks brushed by midday. I don't bother eating breakfast, I find it a waste of time I'll just eat at lunch. I check the time then grabbed my backpack and left the house and closed the door behind me. I then hear someone yelling something from behind me "What?" I asked. It was that weirdo again "You need a ride?" he asked "No I could just walk" I said turning down his offer. "It's a thirty minute walk" he said, I was aware of that and was hoping to get some exercise. "It's fine, I don't want to bother you." I then yawned still tired. "No it's fine, get in" he said making a face, I don't know why, but I didn't want to turn him down again. I took off my backpack and got in, I closed the door behind me then we drove off. He said something I wasn't paying attention so I asked him what he said. "Y-your name . . ." He said stuttering "Oh! My name is Lucky . . . yours?" I responded "My name is Dominic, but my friends call me Dice" he said. Confused I asked "Dice?" checking if I misheard "Yeah, Dice" he said. I asked why Dice was his nickname name "I Play a lot of board games that all include dice" he answered. "Is Lucky a nickname or what?" He asked "I guess you could say that" I said in a sad voice. "Sorry I didn't mean to . . ." I interrupted him before he could finish "No it's fine" at that moment we arrived at the school, he offered to help me find my first class I turned him down. I grabbed my backpack and got out of the car. When I got inside the school it occurred to me that I didn't thank him for the casserole or the ride, I was already in the school and thought It'd be weird to walk back out just to thank him only to walk back inside. So I went in search of my first period class.
