The Road of Love

Chapter Six

Everything moved so fast after the funeral.
Emma and Livia were best friends again. They both admitted it was in the past. Emma apologized to Livia for asking her to leave. Livia also apologized for betraying her.

"You lost the bet" Bush said with a laugh.
"Itold you you'd lose" he continued. The rest of the guys joined in the laughter.
"You lost a good woman because of a bet" Bibi said and shook his head.
"Hey guys, please stop it" Leo pleaded.
He knew he had lost the bet but not a good woman.
"Emma, a good woman?" he asked himself.
"Of course not" he concluded.
"Well, before I admit defeat, I'll win Emma's heart again" he said confidently.
"It's on then" Bibi said.

Emma and Livia back when Emma heard her name behind her.
She turned in the caller's direction.
It was Gerald and his friends.
He excused himself and went over Emma and Livia.
"Hi" Gerald said.
"Hi" Emma and Livia said in unison.
"It's been a while" Gerald said looking at Emma.
"Yeah" Emma said looking down.
Livia pulled her friend's blouse and gave her the "who-is-this-handsome-guy" look.
She replied with her eyes for her to shut up.
"Where have you been?" Gerald asked.
"Around" she replied flatly.
"Oh, this is my friend, Livia" Emma addressed Gerald.
"Livia, this is Gerald" she said looking at Livia.
Gerald stretched his arm and Livia shook it gently.
"Hey Gerald we're still waiting" one of Gerald's friends said.
"A minute guys" Gerald replied.
"So it was nice meeting you Livia and Emma I'll give you a call" he said and ran off without waiting for a reply.
"Are they on this campus?" Afranie asked Gerald when he joined the group.
"Oh yeah and they're not your type" Gerald replied.
"They're hot" Afranie continued in spite of Gerald's reply.
Gerald shot him a look of displeasure.
"Emma is a descent woman" Gerald said in Emma's defence.
"Whoaa, why are you defending one instead of two?" Osei asked.
"You like her right?" the guys chorused.
"No, I don't" Gerald said in a defensive tone.
"Time will tell" Osei said and looked at the rest of the guys for approval.
They all nodded in agreement.

"Now tell me Miss Dickson, Who is he?" Livia said with a pleading tone.
"He's Gerald, I told you" Emma replied with disinterest.
"Just that?" Livia asked raising an eyebrow.
"Uh-huh" Emma replied.
"He likes you" Livia said after a moment of silence.
"I don't and I don't care if he does" Emma replied angrily.
She was getting angry and she didn't know why. She barely got angry.
"After what Leo did to me I've lost all interest in love" Emma said after a while.
"Don't say that Em, please" Lucia said pleadingly.
"That's how I feel after loving Leo with all of my being for three years" she said with teary eyes.
"I don't want to make a fool of myself again, I can't get my heart broken again" she finished and wiped the years away.
"Not all men are like Leo, Em. You'll surely meet Leos in your life and they're to teach you a lesson or two" Livia said to her friend.
"Thanks but please don't tell me about love from today" Emma said and looked at Livia for a full minute.
Livia replied with her eyes.
