The Road of Love

Chapter Eight

Emma couldn't believe her eyes.  She checked the caller Id again and a smile creased her pretty face.

She answered the call.

"Hi,Em" the voice said barely audible.

"Hello" she replied trying to hide her feeling of surprise and excitement.

"How are you?" the voice asked.

"I'm all right, yeah, I'm fine" she replied excitedly.

"Do you have a minute?" the voice asked quite unsure.

"Yeah, sure" she replied feeling anxious.

"Can we meet at the canteen?" the voice asked nervously.

"Yeah in an hour" she replied and hang up.

She danced around the room and went to take a shower.

It surely was a good day.

She wore her favorite dress and checked herself for the fifth time in the mirror.

she looked perfect. she winked at herself.

She had only fifteen minutes to get to the canteen.

She rushed out of the room and ran back again to lock to lock the door. She had forgotten because she was excited to meet him.

He had his back towards her when she got there. She hesitated before going over to where he was seated.

she turned to go but she heard him call her name. She stopped in her tracks and exhaled through her mouth. She turned around.

She walked to him and he hugged her.

"Leo please what is this?" Emma asked getting out of his arms.

"I'm so sorry for letting you go, Em" Leo said with pleading with eyes.

"Emma I couldn't live without you" he continued. Emma began to cry.

"No, no, please don't cry" he said wiping her tears.

"L..., Leo, why are you doing this?" she asked as a lump formed in her throat.

"What do you want?" she asked as she buried her face in her palm.

Leo slowly took her hand and hugged her again. He smiled to himself.

His friends were watching from a distance. Bush looked on hoping for the worst to happen.

"I love you, Emma. I really don't know what made me do what I did" he went on with a pleading face.

Emma was speechless.

"Please tell me you love me and you haven't forgotten about me" Leo said.

Emma looked down.

"Ha..., have you stopped loving me Emma?" Leo asked taking a step back.

"No" Emma replied.

"Will you give me another chance to prove my love?" he asked.

"I don't know Leo" she replied and wiped the tears from her face.

"Emma, I love you and I'll give you all the time you'll ever need to think about it" Leo said.

Emma sighed.

"I haven't stopped loving you even for a minute" she said looking at Leo.

"Oh my Emma" she said and hugged her again this time taking her off her feet.

"Leo do you really want to come back?" Emma asked with a worried face.

"Yes Emma. My life was miserable without you" he said cupping her face in his palm.

"I missed you so much Leo" Emma whispered in his ear.

"Me too" said and smirked.
