The Road of Love

Chapter Nine

"Emma, are you that stupid?" Livia asked surprised with the news.
"I love him and he loves me so what's wrong in that?"she threw the question at the shocked Livia.
"Or is it because he chose me instead of you?" Emma asked and regretted saying it.
Livia was silent.
The room was tensed.
"I'm so sorry Livia, I didn't mean that" Emma apologized to the surprised looking Livia.
Livia just looked at her friend without saying a word.
"Emma he's just using you. He's up to something" Livia said breaking the uncomfortable silence. She took her bag from the bed.
I don't want to see you hurt again Emma. It breaks my heart to see you in pain" Livia said and walked to the door.
"If you want to date him again, I don't have a problem. Just be careful" she said and walked out.
Emma felt guilty for saying that to her friend. She didn't mean to hurt her.
They had forgotten about that.

Livia couldn't believe what Emma had said earlier.
She walked back to her hostel and made a mental note to talk to Leo.
She knew Leo was only using Emma for his benefit.

"I told you I would get her back" Leo said to his friends.
He was proud of himself.
The deal is to date Emma for a month and dump her again.
"The girl loves you Leo" Bobby said.
Bobby was somehow not like the rest of the gang and no one knows why he chose them as friends.
"That's her problem, Bobby" Leo said without looking up.
"What has she done to you?" Bobby asked getting angry.
"What's wrong with you?, Do you like her?" Leo asked this time looking Bobby in the eye.
"NO. I have a girlfriend in case you've forgotten" Bobby said and got up to leave.
Leo also got up and stood in Bobby's way.
"Give me way Leo" he said without moving an inch.
Leo moved closer to him.
"Leo get out of my way" he said calmly.
Leo moved closer.
"I don't want to hit you Leo" Bobby said and moved close to Leo.
None of the guys made an attempt to stop Leo or Bobby.
They just looked on with interest.
"Get the hell out of my way Leo" Bobby said putting his phone and wallet on the table.
Leo didn't move an inch.
"I told you to get out of my way" Bobby said angrily and pushed Leo out of his way.
Leo fell down.
The guys looked on.
Emma saw Leo on the floor and ran to help him.
She stretched her hand and Leo took it and helped himself up.
"What's going on here?" she asked looking at the five guys sitting around the table.
No one answered.
"Bobby please tell me what's going on" Emma pleaded.
"Why don't you ask your boyfriend?" Bobby replied. "I believe he's not deaf or dumb" he said and walked away.
The rest of the guys started laughing.
They stopped when Emma shot them a killer look.
"Lets get out of here Leo" she said taking Leo's hand.
Leo allowed himself to be dragged away by his girlfriend.

"Do you mind telling me what happened a moment ago?" Emma asked Leo. He sat across her on the chair with his head on the table.
"Nothing. Bobby is just a stupid who can't control his temper" Leo lied.
Emma bought the lie.
"What were you doing there?" he asked.
"I went to your room to look for ypu and George told me you were there" she said calmly.
"Why were you looking for me?" he asked without looking up.
"I've not seen you the whole of today and I decided to check on you" she replied and looked at Leo sweetly.
"That's nice of you" he said and gave her a forced smile.
They sat there for minutes without saying anything to each other.
A male voice broke the silence.
